A Teary-Eyed Lindsey Graham Begged People To Give Trump Their Money In A Messy Fox News Appearance

No one had a worse Thursday than Donald Trump — but Lindsey Graham wasn’t far behind him.

Hours after a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict Trump, the South Carolina senator appeared on Hannity looking like he was on the verge of tears. “They’re trying to destroy Donald Trump because they fear him at the ballot box,” he said. “To the conservatives out there, make sure you vote if you got friends, make sure they vote. If you don’t have any friends, go make some friends but you need to help this man, Donald J. Trump. They’re trying to drain him dry; he’s spent more money on lawyers than most spend on campaigns. They’re trying to bleed him dry.” Graham then suggested everyone go to Trump’s website and “give the president some money to fight this bullsh*t.”

You, in fact, do not need to do this. There are better ways of spending your money, like driving to McDonald’s and buying everything on the menu.

Graham’s Hannity spot was also plagued with yelling from the studio audience.

Hannity welcomed Graham to the show and as the senator began speaking, a woman’s voice could be heard – presumably in the audience. Her words were audible but unintelligible. As Graham pressed on, the audio feed to the studio cut out, but the senator was still audible… The studio’s audio feed was activated so Hannity could ask a question about how Trump can prevail, but several other voices were now audible but again, intelligible.

They were probably yelling something about aliens stealing ballots.

Review: ‘Tetris’ is fun—but it reveals the weaknesses of a product movie

I, like many other millennials, played Tetris as a kid. It’s a simple yet addictive puzzle game; you achieve points by arranging falling blocks to create a line. The backstory behind the production of the hit game, however, is a little more complex. Because it was designed in the 1980s by a Soviet engineer, there were a few hurdles in getting it licensed in the U.S. and beyond. Apple TV+’s Tetris tells that (mostly true) story.

There’s a lot to like in this film, led by Rocketman’s Taron Egerton, including its whimsical onscreen graphics that make you feel as if you’re in a video game. Ultimately, though, the whole thing feels unnecessary.

‘Tetris’ follows the story of the legal battle to obtain the rights to the game—which sounds better in theory than in execution. The film is strongest when it focuses on the friendship at the heart of the story.

Tetris shows a lot of promise in its early moments. Egerton stars as Henk Rogers, an entrepreneur who discovers Tetris at a trade show, inspiring him to try to obtain the Japanese rights to the game. That leads him on several trips across the globe, eventually stopping at the Soviet Union to meet the game’s designer, Alexey Pajitnov (Nikita Efremov).

At the film’s premiere at the SXSW film and TV festival, the real-life Rogers and Pajitnov joined the cast members who played them onstage. “We became friends and we’re still friends,” said Pajitnov of him and Rogers.

“Despite it being an extraordinary story about a global phenomenon and a well-recognized brand, it’s really a story about friendship,” Egerton added.

The friendship between the pair—who today co-own The Tetris Company—is the beating heart of the film. They’re portrayed as opposites: Egerton’s Rogers is smooth-talking and charming, while Efremov’s Pajitnov is quiet and reserved. Yet they form an alliance over their love of video games, and you want to root for their success.

The problem with the focus on the Rogers-Pajitnov friendship is that other relationships in the film get pushed to the sidelines. We see and hear from Ayane Nagabuchi, who plays Rogers’ wife Akemi, only a handful of times. And although we see his kids at the beginning of the film, by the end, some of them disappear without explanation.

Most of the action takes place in the Soviet Union and includes some amusing scenes of Rogers in one room while Robert Stein (Toby Jones), who is also trying to obtain the rights to Tetris, is in another room—neither of them aware the other is there. But a few of the Soviet characters feel like caricatures, making the film sillier than it needed to be.

One scene that got strong reactions from the audience was the Nintendo Game Boy reveal scene. Rogers is invited to see the handheld device before its release to the public, and it’s at that moment that he gets the idea for packaging Tetris with the Game Boy (which ultimately happened).

Running on mostly nostalgia, Tetris is playful and at times corny. The story behind obtaining the rights to the game is more interesting in theory than in execution. Like other product movies being released this year, the climax hinges on paperwork being signed. No matter how you dress that up, it’s hard to make that aspect super exciting onscreen.

As for whether the film is factually accurate, screenwriter Noah Pink addressed that at SXSW with a succinct answer: “All of it is emotionally true.”

Tetris streams on Apple TV+ on March 31.

Can Trump Still Run for President Even Though He’s Been Indicted?

With the 2024 election right around the corner, and with Trump currently leading in the polls for the Republican nomination, lots of people on both sides are wondering if the indictment means that Trump can no longer run for president. Let’s find out together.

Can Trump still run for president in 2024?

Yes, he can. An indictment, or even a criminal conviction, can’t prevent someone from running for president. As New York Law School professor Anna G. Cominsky told the Wall Street Journal, “There are actually not that many constitutional requirements to run for president … There is not an explicit prohibition in the Constitution in respect to having a pending indictment or even being convicted.”

While Trump may still be able to run, this definitely gives fuel to his opponents — both those on the left and the right — but may also prop up his own candidacy. Many of Trump’s supporters have continued to support him no matter what he does.

Here’s what we know about Trump’s indictment.

On March 30, 2023, Trump was indicted by a grand jury. This makes him the first former president to ever be charged with a crime. While the contents of the indictment will remain sealed until the arraignment, which could happen as early as Tuesday per CBS, we do know that it involves “hush money” that was allegedly sent to Stormy Daniels in 2016, during Trump’s first run for president.

Trump is still currently being investigated for his supposed involvement in attempting to overturn the 2020 election, as well as for classified documents that were found at his home in Mar-a-Lago.

Never one to stay silent, Trump released a statement shortly after the indictment was announced:

“This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history…The Democrats have lied, cheated and stolen in their obsession with trying to ‘Get Trump,’ but now they’ve done the unthinkable – indicting a completely innocent person in an act of blatant Election Interference… I believe this Witch-Hunt will backfire massively on Joe Biden… we are going to throw every last one of these Crooked Democrats out of office so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

The full statement linked above also includes more name-calling about President Biden, DA Alvin Bragg, and the Democratic party in general.

No one knows for certain what the outcome of the indictment will be, but we can say with confidence that the next few weeks and months will certainly be (yet another) interesting time to be alive.

Taylor Swift Takes A ‘Midnights’ Highlight In A Totally Different Direction With A New Acoustic Version

Taylor Swift is the talk of the music world right now as The Eras Tour continues. She’s set to hit AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas tonight (March 31), but before taking the stage, she dropped a new acoustic version of Midnights highlight “Lavender Haze.” Given the electronic/pop nature of the original recording, this acoustic version is a significant aesthetic departure that presents the song in a completely new light.

Swift previously said of the song’s inspiration:

“I happened upon the phrase ‘Lavender Haze’ when I was watching Mad Men and I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it was a common phrase that was used in the ’50s where they would just describe being in love. Like, If you were in the ‘Lavender Haze,’ that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow, and I thought that was really beautiful.

I guess theoretically when you’re in the ‘Lavender Haze,’ you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud. And I think a lot of people have to deal with this now — not just, like, quote-unquote public figures — because we live in the era of social media and if the world finds out that you’re in love with somebody, they’re gonna weigh in on it.”

Did This Mom Go Too Far In Trying To Teach Her Daughter What Being An Adult Is Really Like?

When you sign up to be a parent, part of the gig is teaching your children how to survive in the world as adults. Sure, you have 18 years to do it, but the truth of the matter is that those years disappear before you know what’s happened – and you have to hope that you’ve done your job.

This woman is concerned, as her 18-year-old daughter is suddenly skipping school and hanging out with the wrong crowd, and lying all the time to boot.

My 17 year daughter a senior in high school, has been skipping school, smoking wd, allowing kids that do not have a DL drive my car and lying about everything.

When she ran away, OP’s first reaction was to cut off her daughter’s phone, medical insurance, and anything else that she pays for until she agrees to at least finish school.

She has now ran away because I told her she had to finish high school. My house rules are the following: tell me where you are, don’t lie and finish high school. She has been doing all the above.

I told her she since she didn’t want to attend school here she could go to her dad or grandparents.

She chose to runaway when I wasn’t looking.

So I plan on canceling her phone, which I pay, took my GI bill back that gave for her to use for college, and plan on pausing her insurance.

She has braces on her top teeth but hasn’t attended an appointment since April. I’m hoping she wakes up soon and realizes it’s a crappy world.

The daughter’s friends and their parents say the daughter is an adult and OP can’t make her do anything, but OP is left feeling confused about what she should do.

I finally got ahold of one of her friends after 2 days who has informed me that “my child is an adult, I can’t make her live with me, or anyone else without her consent. That she don’t have to go to school if she don’t want to.”

And that I was a horrible parent pretty much.

You know Reddit is going to have some very good (or at least enthusiastic) advice!

The top comment says that OP is doing nothing wrong. If her daughter thinks she wants to be an adult, well…this is what it’s like.

After learning through comments that the behavior change was sudden and recent, this person thinks OP really needs to find out what precipitated it.

Everyone is hoping that the kid is ok, honestly.

What everyone can agree on is that this is a tough situation.

That said, part of being a good parent is making tough choices sometimes.

OP has said that she’s realized she needs to try to find out what caused her daughter’s behavior to change so suddenly.

Here’s hoping the two of them can figure it out.

Because adulting really does stink.

Olivia Hebert - Author

In the latest episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, original cast member Ronnie Ortiz-Magro revealed that he had gained full custody of his four-year-old daughter, Ariana, after a tense legal battle with ex-girlfriend, Jenn Harley.

After getting arrested for domestic violence in April 2021, Ronnie took a step back from filming the Jersey Shore spinoff series in a bid to better himself for his daughter.

How did Ronnie win the case? Find out more below.

Ronnie and Jenn were a match made in hell.

Ronnie has had a long, well-documented history with domestic violence going back to the early days of Jersey Shore when he was with Sammi Sweetheart. Like his previous relationship, Ronnie’s fights with his baby mama Jenn were seen on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

Since they first got together in July 2017, the couple were chaotic from the beginning. While filming for the spinoff, many of Ronnie’s cast mates questioned his loyalty to Jenn.

After an episode in April 2018 featuring an arc about cheating aired, the couple traded insults on social media and later got into a physical altercation that led to their first split. They tried to co-parent Ariana amicably but when another cheating-themed episode aired in May 2018, things soured.

In June 2018, the pair was involved in multiple physical altercations while filming the series, one of them resulting with Jenn being arrested, but the charges were dropped due to “insufficient evidence.”

The couple continued to go back and forth on social media, trading barbs and exposing incriminating pictures of abuse they inflicted on each other. But puzzlingly enough, they reunited for a couples costume party for Halloween that year.

Their on-and-off relationship continued, but hit a breaking point in 2019 when Ronnie was arrested and charge with seven misdemeanors including domestic violence. They finally split, but their battle for custody over Ariana had just begun.

How did Ronnie win custody of Ariana?

Ronnie’s latest appearance on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation was filmed right after he won custody in October 2022. In the episode, he admitted, “For the last couple of years, I was in a bad situation.”

“I almost lost everything that I built. I almost lost my daughter. I was in treatment for eight or nine months. It helped me grow and made me a stronger person.” He explained, “Now, I have full custody of my daughter. It’s a lot of hard work, but she keeps me balanced.”

It’s clear that Ronnie is in a much better place than he once was, with a sneaker business on the horizon, everything seems to be looking up for this Guido.

Chlöe Wanted Her New Album ‘In Pieces’ To Feel Like Kanye West And ‘Progressive’

At midnight a few hours ago, Chlöe dropped her debut solo album, In Pieces. Of course, that’s a major moment for the young artist, so she shared her excitement about it in a video posted ahead of the project’s release.

She starts the video by mostly failing to stifle joyful laughter and saying, “I’m so happy! It feels so good!” She went on to acknowledge the control she gave herself over the album, saying, “I just gotta trust myself more. Executive produced by Chloe Bailey! Produced by Chloe Bailey! I produced on every song on that record except two songs. Every other thing on there, produced by, vocal produced by… every song, vocal produced by, Chlöe.”

Chlöe also noted of the project’s mission statement, “I wanted this album to signify and represent heartbreak in every way, and that’s what I said three years ago, and somewhere down the line, it changed and I lost sight of that. Look right back where I ended up.” She added of the album’s influences, “I’ve always wanted it to feel progressive and different and fun and… the feeling I get when I listen to Kanye [West] and Mike Dean and Travis [Scott], I always wanted that sound in my music.”

In Pieces is out 3/31 via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. Find more information here.
