An Extremely Grateful Ariana Grande Updated Fans At The ‘Halfway’ Point Of Filming ‘Wicked’

0

Other than a brief studio session to record “Die For You (Remix)” and casually picking up another No. 1 with The Weeknd, Ariana Grande has been fully immersed in Wicked for the last year-plus.

Grande and Cynthia Erivo confirmed in November 2021 that they would play Glinda and Elphaba, respectively, for Jon M. Chu’s forthcoming film adaptation of Wicked, which will be released in two parts.

Grande provided an update today, April 3, from the set in London.

“Halfway,” she captioned an Instagram photo of her standing beneath a full rainbow. “Savoring every millisecond left with my Galinda (although she’ll be with me irrevocably, forever). She shows me so many new things every day.

Grande continued:

“I am so grateful, i don’t know what to do or say
to be here in Oz where everyday is a life changing one
to be feeling, learning and growing so much at such a disarming speed
to feel so much love around me, to begin each day before the sun is up and to end after it sets
to hold my brilliant twin flame / sister Cynthia’s beautiful, green hands every day
to work in the safest, most beautiful and loving, biggest-yet-most-intimate/tiny-feeling spaces
to be lead by thee most thoughtful, brilliant, compassionate and warmest possible director on this planet, my other Ozian best friend ever Jon… to be transforming and healing parts of me that i never knew needed it. or maybe did.

forgive me for this most cancerian, rambly post. words don’t suffice but i suppose i just wanted to (attempt to) share a little. i don’t want it to end. so while i am still here, present, now, i just wanted to
.exclaim my tremendous gratitution ! and allow my heart to overflow. i hope this isn’t all a dream because as present as i am attempting to be, it sure does feel like one. happy halfway to this most beautiful crew. my fellow Ozians. my heart will be stuck here forever.”

Chu shared Grande’s post to his Instagram Story and added, “It’s not a dream. Halfway point. Our Galinda/Glinda emerges for a moment [three heart emojis] love you @arianagrande and @cynthiaerivo so much love and care is being poured into every frame. Just wait.”

Wicked: Part 1 was moved up to November 27, 2024, as The Hollywood Reporter relayed and Chu confirmed on March 14.

Grande has dreamt of leaving her mark in the legacy of Wicked since she was a little girl. Kristen Chenoweth recalled in 2019 to Seth Meyers of meeting a 10-year-old Ariana during her initial run of Wicked and gifting her a wand. Chenoweth has continued to support Grande following in her footsteps.

‘Euphoria’ Star Barbie Ferreira Has Revealed Why She Left The Hit HBO Series

0

After two seasons of playing Kat on Euphoria, actress Barbie Ferreira announced that she would not be returning to the hit HBO series for season three. “I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye,” she wrote on Instagram. “I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it.”

Ferreira discussed her decision to exit the show on the Armchair Expert podcast. “When people ask me about season two, it’s usually they come at me with, like, I was some sort of victim to season two,” she said, “and I’m always like, ‘No, it’s OK, promise. It’s good.’ I actually did not walk off set. I did sprain my ankle once and had to go get an X-ray. Maybe that’s what they mean?”

Ferreira continued:

“I don’t think there was a place for her to go. I think there were places she could have gone. I just don’t think it would have fit into the show. I don’t know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don’t want to play that, and I think they didn’t want that either.”

Euphoria is no stranger to alleged behind-the-scenes drama, but Ferreira insists that wasn’t the case here. “[Creator Sam Levinson] writes for, like, things that he relates to. I don’t think he relates to Kat. I like Kat, so I get to go on my own path. At first, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m a flop. I’m a loser.’ It really has been a good thing.”

‘Buying a drink means she’s yours now?’: Man takes back drink he bought for girl at bar after she dances with someone else

0

Different species have different ways of courting potential mates. Male peacocks strut around and show off their feathers. Male penguins will grab the smoothest, prettiest pebble they can find and present it to a female, and the two begin to build a nest together and try to have little penguin babies of their own. And some humans will seek out a potential partner while at a bar by offering to buy them an alcoholic beverage in order to strike up a conversation and see if there’s any romantic interest between the two of them.

TikToker George Tinoco (@georgievids) decided to take back a drink he bought for a girl after he saw her dancing with and talking to another man at the bar.

He explained his thought process in a caption for the video: “So i bought this ‘nice’ lady a drink, she chatted me up and even gave me her number but as soon as i gave her the drink, she walked away from me and started to talk to a different dude yk i had to.”

@georgievids so i bought this “nice” lady a drink, she chatted me up and even gave me her number but as soon i gave her the drink, she walked away from me and started to talk to a different dude😪 yk i had to #snatchback #pickingupwomen #barscene #fyp #sigma ♬ original sound – Geo Tinoco

He begins the video by giving a thumbs up to the camera while on the dance floor before smiling and then turning to the woman to ask her for the drink back.

“Watch me take my drink back after i witness her dancing with another dude,” he wrote in a text overlay.

The woman seems confused as to what’s going on at first, as George puts his lips on the straw of the beverage and begins to start slurping it down with both of their hands on the glass. After a few seconds, she lets go of the cup, and George, with the drink in his hand, smiles at the camera and gives another two thumbs up before starting to dance again.

George’s video has been viewed nearly 50,000 times in a week. TikTokers who saw the clip had a variety of different reactions to the video. One person wrote: “She didn’t wana let it go either,” while another penned, “As you should.”

Another person, however, noted that just because George bought her a drink shouldn’t mean she’s obligated to talk to or dance with him.

“She doesn’t owe you anything, not even a dance. If you get her a drink that’s up to you,” TikToker @dreamworld3690 said.

“He bought it with conditions I see,” a second TikToker wrote under @dreamworld3690’s comment.

“So I guess buying a drink means she’s yours now?” another questioned.

Why Is This Brand Going Viral on TikTok?

Source: Magnolia Pearl Facebook

Chris Barilla - Author

If there’s one aspect of TikTok that’s undeniable, it’s the platform being an incubator for new trends. Whether you realize it or not, over the last few years, the video-sharing app has been the go-to source for influencers influencing the way that many of its users behave in real life, style their clothing, and much more. In terms of clothes, it seems as though as soon as any brand or particular garment catches the attention of TikTok users, it’s sure to be the new “it” thing.

The latest brand to drum up a lot of conversation on TikTok is called Magnolia Pearl. Unlike other labels, there seems to be quite a discourse between some users over the brand’s offerings as well as its considerably high prices. So, why is Magnolia Pearl getting so much attention online right now? Here’s what we know.

Why is TikTok talking so much about the brand Magnolia Pearl?

Blame it on the reinvigorated interest in bohemian style or maybe just blame it on Daisy Jones & the Six, but it seems as though TikTok is captivated by the designer Magnolia Pearl. So, what makes this brand stand out so much? Why has it become a topic of discussion on the platform? Well, it has to do with a combination of the clothing’s style as well as its otherworldly price point.

Indeed, one look at the Magnolia Pearl website reveals that the brand proudly sells items such as this $600 dress coat as well as this pair of $400 trousers. The clothes give off an almost whimsical fairy-tale vibe somewhat reminiscent of the 1960s and 1970s with soft colors, flowing materials, and interesting patterns. All in all, many of the items look like they’ve been pulled out out of a box in the closet after several decades, and that appears to be what draws certain customers to its look.

Their website states that the brand was created by Robin Brown in 2002 and is based out of Texas. In their own words, “Our garments are just along for the ride — pieces of thread and light, sewn summations of surrender, and dreams, with a poem on the sleeve.”

Aside from their own storefront, Magnolia Pearl is also available through major retailers such as Free People.

However, for as many supporters as Magnolia Pearl has, there are plenty of naysayers questioning why the brand is charging inflated prices for its clothing.

“It’s ugly and you have bad taste,” wrote one user on TikTok about their feelings toward others supporting the brand.

“It’s giving #peasantcore meets #hobocosplay,” chimed in another user.

“That s–t looks like my baby blanket,” said a user dueting a TikTok of another person showcasing a Magnolia Pearl outfit. They captioned their video with “That is like a $3,000 outfit,” clearly disturbed by the price. The top-rated comment underneath that post is a user bouncing off of the original poster and saying, “When rich people dress up like the chimney cleaners in Mary Poppins.”

It seems as though users are about as divided as can be over the offerings from Magnolia Pearl. Regardless of naysayers, with over 12 million views on TikTok under the hashtag #magnoliapearl, it’s clear that the label is getting more attention than it ever has before.

‘That was an expensive sip of coffee’: DoorDash customer says she was only given partial refund after coffee leaked since there was still some left in cup

0

A Cincinnati-area TikToker showed a DoorDash drink delivery that was an absolute fail, leaving commenters weighing in with other DoorDash fails they claim to have experienced.

The video was posted by creator @itsanniebelle, getting nearly 58,000 views since going up on the platform on March 22. The short video shows—as soundtracked by HUGEL’s “WTF”—a Starbucks bag being lifted with coffee dripping out of it.

@itsanniebelle That was an expensive sip of coffee 😫 #doordash #starbucks ♬ WTF (feat. Amber Van Day) – HUGEL

The on-screen caption notes, “DoorDash only offering me a partial refund because …”

She added wryly in the comment accompanying the video, “That was an expensive sip of coffee.”

The comments reveal even more of the story. In response to a commenter noting they got just “$8 from a $24 order” where the DoorDash customer even provided photographic proof, the creator remarked she was offered “$4 on a $30 order where an item was missing, coffee spilled, and food was soaked.”

Later, in another comment, she noted, “I had to send them pictures of the spill trail from the driveway to my porch, through my living room. I think he thought I dumped it.”

One commenter hinted that things are amiss at DoorDash currently, observing, “DD is really bad right now, they’re not giving refunds like they used to. You only have 4 chances and then it’s considered suspicious. Check out Reddit.”

Indeed, there’s a DoorDash subreddit on the social media platform, with recent posts showing some antipathy between the driver camp and the customer camps.

Some of those viewing the video found the content quite relatable.

One commenter cracked, “My bf and I make bets about what’s going to be missing each time. Usually it’s drinks.”

Another diagnosed, “I’m a Dasher and that was on the Dasher. That person dropped your bag.”

“This right here is why I refuse to have any food delivered unless the company is delivering it themselves,” yet another said, asserting that “Doordash/Grubhub just don’t care.”

“That’s probably the best thing to do,” the creator agreed. “DoorDash is always such a gamble.”

Responding to a request for clarification, @itsanniebelle told the Daily Dot, “I had to repeatedly tell them I would not accept the partial refund. The end resolution was a 50% credit and $15 in credits.”

The TikToker was not satisfied with that, though, adding, “I own a company and order DoorDash often for my employees. I have discontinued my membership with DoorDash.”

Caitlin Clark And Angel Reese’s ‘You Can’t See Me’ Taunts Are A Reminder That Tony Yayo Is Behind This

0

Angel Reese notched her 34th double-double in the NCAA Division I national championship game — the most in one season in Division I history — and boosted the LSU Tigers to an historic 102-85 win over Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Tigers’ 102 points are the most-ever in an NCAA women’s title game, and the result was the first-ever national championship for LSU in men’s or women’s basketball. So, yeah, Reese (the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, by the way) was rightfully feeling herself.

People are mad — and telling on themselves in their racist and sexist outrage.

The backstory: Clark hit the “you can’t see me” during Iowa’s 97-83 Elite Eight trouncing of Louisville. She put up a triple-double with 41 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists. Mostly everybody loved her confidence. But when Reese served Clark the “you can’t see me” as time was expiring in the national championship, Reese was ridiculed for being too cocky or whatever.

“Caitlin Clark is a hell of a player, for sure, but I don’t take disrespect lightly,” Reese said on ESPN afterward.

The backstory to the backstory: The one thing everybody seemed to agree on was crediting John Cena with inventing the “you can’t see me,” and Cena chimed in after Clark’s celebration in the Elite Eight. But it turns out the discourse over its usage was just as misguided as the understanding of its origin. Before Cena popularized the catchphrase and hand gesture in WWE, there was G-Unit’s Tony Yayo in the “So Seductive” video featuring 50 Cent. (For what it’s worth, Cena has credited Yayo in the past.)

Look no further than the 32-second mark:

“LISTEN JOHN CENA DID NOT INVENT THE ‘YOU CAN’T SEE ME,’” The Kid Mero tweeted. “TONY YAYO DID AND IDK WHY HES NOT MORE VOCAL ABOUT IT.”

Another tweeter noted, “At the end of the day, Tony Yayo is the cause of all of this LMAO.”

As for Clark and Reese, Clark wasn’t bothered by Reese’s excellent taunt, and Reese used the moment to speak on the purpose behind her unabashed authenticity.

“All year, I was critiqued about who I was,” Reese said during her postgame presser. “I don’t fit the narrative. I don’t fit in the box that y’all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year. But when other people do it, y’all don’t say nothing. So this was for the girls who look like me, that’s gonna speak up on what they believe in. It’s unapologetically you, and that’s who I did it for tonight.”

She continued, “It was bigger than me tonight. It was bigger than me. Twitter is gonna go on a rage every time, and I mean, I’m happy. I feel like I helped grow women’s basketball this year. I’m super happy and excited, so I’m looking forward to celebrating and then next season.”

In other words, you will see Angel Reese.
