Where Can You Buy The Overpriced, Viral ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Sandworm Slayer Drink?

Warner Bros

When you go to a movie theater these days, you want to be totally immersed in the experience. You can’t just sit and watch a movie anymore, you need to surround yourself with tie-ins and novelty popcorn buckets and spend $9.99 on an Alien: Romulus gauntlet just to prove you know movies better than your friends. It’s just the way it works now, sorry! But even that isn’t enough anymore, now that the Sandworm Slayer has arrived.

The Sandworm Slayer (not a Dune reference, though it could be) is AMC’s latest creation in order to promote Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. The vibrant 24-ounce cocktail is made with blue and black raspberry juice and “premium vodka,” topped with sour gummy worms. It is, essentially, a boozy Beetle Juice.

It’s almost as if AMC took two of Timothée Chalamet’s biggest attributes (worms and candy) and decided to go with it. Which could work…only it cost a whopping $31 according to some moviegoers.

The Hollywood Reporter did some digging and found that the drink is available for purchase for $21 at 92% of AMC locations, though local liquor laws vary depending on where you are.

If that’s too much money for some juice but you still want to support Tim Burton’s little projects, there’s another premium drink offering! Fanta has a new Beetlejuice-inspired flavor, Haunted Apple, along with some limited edition cans. A 12-pack is only $29.99! Apparently, inflation is big in the afterlife, too.

Billionaire Jared Isaacman’s Wife Is Staying Put on Earth

Isaacman is part of SpaceX’s new Polaris Dawn space mission.

Just months after two Boeing Crew astronauts became stranded in space, SpaceX has launched four more people into orbit in its newest civilian space mission, Polaris Dawn. Per Forbes, the company seeks to “make history with the first-ever private spacewalk and the furthest crewed space flight since NASA’s Apollo moon missions more than 50 years ago”

Article continues below advertisement

And while the Boeing situation involves seasoned pros, the Elon Musk-backed venture — which kicked off on the morning of Sept. 10 — involves several folks who have never been to space before, though their careers certainly put them in the right field. The Polaris Dawn crew is comprised of two senior SpaceX engineers, Anna Menon and Sarah Gillis, and a retired U.S. Air Force pilot, Scott Poteet.

However, the space flight will be commanded — and bankrolled — by billionaire and entrepreneur Jared Isaacman, who previously commanded Inspiration4, a private SpaceX spaceflight that took place in 2021. And now that he’s in the spotlight (and the spacecraft) again, the public wants to know more about his personal life and the family he leaves safely behind on Earth.

Who are his wife and kids?

Jared and his wife, Monica Isaacman, are always seeking to “make the world a better place.”

While many wouldn’t be thrilled about the idea of their significant other speeding around the world in a jet plane and taking part in the first-ever civilian space mission, Monica Isaacman couldn’t be more supportive of her husband — and, in fact, she seems to be somewhat of a thrill seeker herself.

In posts on her social media, she can be seen skydiving, flying in fighter jets, and more.

The seemingly very compatible pair have reportedly known each other since middle school and been married for almost 20 years as of writing, though their exact date of marriage isn’t publicly known. Jared and Monica seem to have an incredibly strong relationship built on the foundation of shared passions for space, technology, and philanthropy.

In fact, the couple are major donors to The Giving Pledge, a charitable organization founded by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett as a “promise by the world’s wealthiest individuals and families to dedicate the majority of their wealth to charitable causes.”

Jared and Monica Isaac’s statement to The Giving Pledge.

In their pledge statement, Jared and Monica shared their commitment to improving the world: “I know how lucky my family and I have been and there are so many less fortunate in the world. I can’t imagine going through life without trying to make the world a better place than we found it. It doesn’t feel like something optional to me, but an obligation and one some of us should shoulder more than others.”

“With enormous gratitude, my family and I pledge to donate the majority of our wealth, to making life better for those in need, and help build the foundation for the human advances of tomorrow,” the statement continued.

Jared and Monica have two daughters together.

Above all else, Jared has been clear that he is a family man — and he has the adorable family to prove it.

Jared and Monica have two daughters, Mila and Liv, who they often take on fun adventures and showcase on their social media pages. In fact, while visiting the SpaceX facilities at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the two young girls were treated to a trip to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.

Mila and Liv also share their dad’s love of space, though it seems to manifest in a more fantastical sense. The billionaire has showcased his two daughters’ affinity for Star Wars on Instagram, snapping adorable photos of them playing with lightsabers and more.

While they seem a bit too young to fully understand the magnitude of their father’s expeditions to space just yet, we’re sure they think he’s a pretty cool dad.

‘6 fingers’: Skateboarding channel’s Tim Pool ollie pic accused of being AI fakery

A left-wing user on X is spreading the claim that podcaster Tim Pool is using artificial intelligence (AI) to make himself appear better at skateboarding.

But is it true?

On Tuesday, the user “lucile desmoulins” cited alleged glitches in a picture of Pool performing an ollie over a trashcan as proof that AI had been used.

“computer, ENHANCE this photo of @Timcast doing a totally real ollie,” the user wrote.

In particular, the X user argues that Pool’s hand as well as two wheels on his skateboard show the tell-tale signs of AI manipulation.

Followers of desmoulins enthusiastically agreed and likewise pointed out purported issues in the photo.

“There are hallucinations in the ceiling, look at the wiring and the chains hanging down not connected to lights, and the storage wall, look at the bicycle,” one user replied. “And that’s just from 10 seconds of scrutiny.”

Others expressed shock at the claims and appeared to agree with the allegation from desmoulins.

“LMAOOOO no way dude omg,” another added.

The picture in question originates from the Instagram page for “The Boonies HQ,” which runs a skateboarding channel on YouTube that regularly features Pool.

Since being posted on Aug. 22, the image has been inundated with claims that Pool faked the trick.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by The Boonies HQ (@boonieshq)

“Not even Photoshop, just straight up fake computer picture lmfao,” one user said.

“why you got 6 fingers Timmy?” asked one commenter.

“LMFAO! DUDE’S POSTING AI PICTURES SO HE CAN PRETEND HE CAN SKATE?!” a second Instagram user wrote.

Numerous references were also made to the recent news that Pool had been unknowingly receiving upwards of $400,000 every month from the Russian government as part of a clandestine influence operation.

“bro gets millions from the Russian govt and can’t even be bothered to get someone to properly photoshop him doing fake tricks,” one user wrote.

So, is the image actually AI-generated? At current, there’s no strong evidence to suggest so. For starters, the quality of the image is extremely poor and could be a still from a video clip.

As far as the apparent glitches, everything from motion blur caused by Pool’s movement to compression of the image quality after being uploaded and reshared across social media could be to blame.

And Pool might also just be good at skating. He has long been known to be a skateboarder and has frequently uploaded pictures and videos of himself performing tricks to his social media profiles.

Pool even stirred controversy among skaters this year when he purchased a plot of land that had been used by skaters in West Virginia. The purchase came after local skaters refused to allow Pool to involve himself in a local skate competition.

The Daily Dot reached out to Pool via email but did not receive a reply by press time.

Who Is Dudenoff in OMITB? Is It a Real Person or Just a Code Name?

The pieces are coming together, leading viewers to believe that Dudenoff isn’t actually a person.

Source: Hulu

Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building.

Dudenoff is a name that’s been tossed around quite a bit in Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building. It first popped up on a random piece of paper left on Sazz’s desk. Later, when Mabel inquires about who lives in the apartment with the lockbox, the daughter of the “Sauce family” from the West Tower casually mentions, “Oh, that’s the Dudenoff place.”

Article continues below advertisement

Before the girl can reveal more about Dudenoff, her mother quickly nudges her to stop talking. The apartment, now identified as Dudenoff’s, is the very place from which the fatal shot was fired into Charles’s apartment, claiming Sazz’s life. But who is Dudenoff, really? Is it a real person or just the name of an abandoned apartment shared by many? Here’s what we know so far, along with some intriguing theories from social media users.

Who is Dudenoff in ‘Only Murders in the Building?”

Source: Hulu

Dudenoff’s identity has not yet been revealed in Season 4 of OMITB, but as the season draws on, viewers are getting closer and closer to figuring out who it is. It could be a code name for the apartment “The Westies” take turns sharing for God knows what. After all, they are an odd bunch. Who stabs an imported piece of ham hanging from a shower curtain rod anyway?

Article continues below advertisement

While we know Sazz’s killer may have been targeting Charles, they could have decided to eliminate Sazz simply because she was closing in on the truth. Remember, just before she died, Sazz told Charles she had something important to discuss. Maybe she suspected someone was out to get Charles and was getting too close to piecing together the puzzle.

Either way, Sazz’s killer — also Charles’s potential killer — is likely strong, given that they were able to carry her body to the incinerator, and skilled with a gun.

Viewers may have gotten a glimpse of who Dudenoff is, or at least the person who used to be part of The Westies clan, in a photo in Stinky Eye Joe’s apartment. Alongside the “Sauce family,” “Stinky Eye Joe,” and the Christmas guy who actually hates Christmas but needs to keep up the gimmick, there’s a person cuddling a pig in overalls. However, their face is scratched off. Either that is Dudenoff or just an estranged friend whom The Westies no longer associate with.

Article continues below advertisement

By Episode 3, Detective Williams (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) reveals that the “abandoned” apartment actually belongs to an M. Dudenoff, a retired professor supposedly in Portugal. The same Portugal where the “Sauce family” patriarch mentioned the piece of pork was imported from? Something feels off about this Dudenoff dude, and we’re ready to get to the bottom of it!

Social media users think they have an idea of who Dudenoff might be in ‘OMITB.’

Source: Hulu

Until Dudenoff’s true identity is revealed, Redditors are forging their own theories. “My theory is that either they all [The Westies] chip in a little bit to rent that apartment and share it so they all have a little more space when they need it, or it’s not rented at all and they’re all using it together anyway,” wrote @DevsChamps2003.

Article continues below advertisement

Another theory suggests that Dudenoff might be dead “and they’re all hiding it because it was a rent-controlled apt.” @Huckleberry1784 added, “Oh, maybe they killed him and are keeping up appearances. Paying his rent and such. Maybe he is the victim of the other murder(s) in the building Sazz was alluding to.”

Charles, Oliver, and Mabel trying to get into the Dudenoff place in 'OMITB'
Source: Hulu

Article continues below advertisement

This Redditor further speculates that The Westies use a ham radio for illegal dealings, not to mention stab ham in the bathroom as some sort of release, and when Dudenoff discovered this, they killed him.

According to this theory, Sazz then uncovered the murder and began piecing together clues similar to those Mabel, Oliver (Martin Short), and Charles have found. When she got too close, she was taken out.

It’s also peculiar that there’s a ham radio in the Dudenoff place warning the gang to stop searching for answers and that someone has posted a petition to prevent filming for the Hollywood version of the OMITB podcast. Obviously, this would draw a lot of attention to the area, which wouldn’t exactly help keep the killer’s identity concealed.

Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building premiered on Aug. 26, 2024, with new episodes dropping on Hulu weekly on Tuesdays.

The First ‘Nightbitch’ Reactions Promise An Entirely Different Movie Than The Trailer Suggests

Searchlight Pictures

Rachel Yoder’s Nightbitch took the book club circuit by storm in 2021 for understandable reason. The story’s feminist take on suburban, stay-at-home motherhood is a scathing and brutally funny one that was theoretically ripe for adaptation, even if filming practicalities might have sounded insurmountable. The idea of a Mother (Amy Adams) believing that she’s turning into a canine — and as the logline reveals, she “slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood” while running with the dogs and terrorizing cats — sounds too camp to pull off onscreen. And that tricky balance for this surreal dark comedy was confirmed in recent a trailer that didn’t exactly hit the mark:

To complicate matters, much of the discourse seems to be based upon the idea that Adams is chasing an Oscar win with this role after scoring six nominations over the years. The Sharp Objects actress, for her part, attended the TIFF premiere of the movie while telling Indiewire that she isn’t currently focused on whether she’s nominated for awards (“it’s not something I think about…”) but wouldn’t be mad if it helps the movie grow an audience (“I’m always happy if a film connects in a way that increases exposure for the film”).

The film, which stars Scoot McNairy (Halt and Catch Fire, Narcos: Mexico) and is directed and written by Marielle Heller (“A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood”), debuted at TIFF this week, and the below critic reactions urge people to lose the trailer because it’s reportedly not an accurate representation of the film. There’s even a comparison to The Substance:

Globe & Mail‘s Barry Hertz:

“NIGHTBITCH: Ignore the terrible trailer, this is a fantastic showcase for Amy Adams, who gets her … meatiest … role since THE MASTER… Shares much more in common with THE SUBSTANCE than I think anyone anticipated.”

Next Best Picture’s Matt Neglia:

NIGHTBITCH is so much better than the trailer would lead you to believe. Marielle Heller continues her streak of offering insight and nuance into the human condition, in this case, motherhood, in a way that feels deeply empathetic. Amy Adams walks a tightrope, fully selling the character’s internal struggle while exuding the warmth needed to be a good mom, all while nailing the comedic timing. Consistently funny and razor-sharp. If anything, I wish it went darker.

Critic Will Martinez:

Nightbitch is so much better than that trailer suggests. An insightful, amusing, and ultimately heartfelt look into motherhood. It is also a fabulous showcase for one of our greatest living actresses as Amy Adams totally crushes it. Another winner for Marielle Heller.

The Oscar Expert blog:

“Wipe the Nightbitch trailer from your brain. It’s a cathartic, insightful, and refreshingly philosophical take on how mothers cope…”

Nightbitch arrives in theaters on December 6.

Father has 'unique' idea to give his name to daughter, but mom says it's the 'worst ever'

Some parents have no trouble giving their children perfectly unique, very meaningful names that won’t go on to ruin their adulthood. But others…well…they get an A for effort, but might want to consider hiring a baby name professional.

Things of course get even more complicated when one parent becomes attached to a name that they’re partner finds completely off-putting. It almost always leads to a squabble, because the more one parent is against the name, the more the other parent will go to bat for it.

This seemed to be the case for one soon-to-be mom on the Reddit AITA forum recently. Apparently, she was second-guessing her vehement reaction to her husband’s, ahem, avant garde baby name for their daughter, which she called “the worst name ever.”

But honestly, when you hear this name, I think you’ll agree she was totally in the right.

For context, the couple initially thought they were having a boy and were going to go the traditional route by carrying over the husband’s name. Easy Peasy. Except they were having a girl instead. And here is where our saga begins.

“See, when we first started talking about names, the ‘boy name’ was immediately decided: Stuart Jr., after my husband,” she wrote. “No problem there, it’s a classic name and carries family meaning. But, for a girl, things got murky.”

Apparently the woman’s husband thought he had come up with the perfect solve for their situation. Read on.

“My husband suggested Stuarta,. No, you’re not having a stroke,” she continued. “Apparently, his logic is that since Stuart ends in ‘t,’ we can just add an ‘a’ to make it feminine.”

Sure, okay. Some names can lean feminine or masculine depending on some letter tweaks, like Robert/Roberta, Eric/Erica, Carl/Carla, etc. But I think we can all agree that this trick doesn’t work in all cases. And that was how the wife felt.

“I tried explaining why that doesn’t quite work, how it sounds more like a furniture brand than a human name, how she’d be endlessly correcting people and explaining its origin,” she lamented.

AITA for rejecting the worst name ever for our offspring?
byu/Beginning_Date1924 inAmItheAsshole

But, alas, “He’s adamant though, says it ‘honors’ him while giving our daughter a unique name.”

In trying to respect his wishes, she even suggested some feminine name alternatives that sounded like Stuart, this still honoring his name. But he would not budge.

At a loss, the woman concluded, “I love my husband dearly, and I understand wanting to honor family. But I can’t imagine subjecting our daughter to a lifetime of awkward stares and endless questions about her ‘unusual’ name. I also worry about potential bullying and the impact it could have on her self-esteem.”

She also asked the forum if they had any additional name suggestions, but for goodness sake no other “-ta” names. “The man clearly has a theme, and I need to gently steer him away from it, not fuel the fire!” she joked.

To no one’s surprise, everyone in the comments section thought “Stuarta” was dreadful.

“It sounds like a word your cousin tried to use in Scrabble during the holidays of 1997 just to try and win the game — they didn’t,” one person wrote.

Another added, “Stuarta sounds like a pharmaceutical product. I can hear the commercials now. ‘In some cases, Stuarta can cause headaches, rashes and even death.’ It doesn’t have a decent nickname. And no, adding an ‘a’ doesn’t make it feminine in all cases; this is one of them. I’d go for Stuart as a middle name.”

Others felt it unfair that the woman’s husband was so hellbent on being the one honored in the first place—especially if the child is already taking his surname. Others argued that naming a child after a parent, any parent, robs them of their individuality.

“WTF should any child HAVE to be named after him in some way? I get the tradition thing but this is just weird behavior. The name should be about the child, not him alone. It’s not only selfish, but arrogant to insist children must be named after him.”

“I always believed that if you want your child to have their own personality, their own name is the best place to start.”

Lastly, folks pointed out that regardless of how adamant the husband is about Stuarta, both parents have to be on board with the baby name: “Remind him that baby names need a yes from both parents or it’s a no. You both need to be able to live with whatever you go with. Even if that means both of you are missing out on the one you want most.” Case closed.

Hopefully the husband comes to his senses and all gets resolved before we have a little Stuarta in the world. But if not, let’s be kind to her regardless.

He told viewers, “When I was in college, I figured out this free food glitch. Nowadays, every restaurant, every food place, they all have an app, and most of them will give you something free if you sign up for their rewards system. You just have to give them your email.”

He then said that adding one different character to your email address makes the hack possible and told viewers, “Let’s say your email is [email protected]. Well, if you do a ‘plus’ after your email, [email protected], it will still go to your inbox, but most of these restaurants think of it as a different email. You can do can do ‘plus hello,’ ‘plus grandma,’ ‘plus TikTok.’”

He added, “Because these apps think of it as a brand new email, you can continually sign up and get free food or whatever the incentive is without having to make other email addresses.”

He told viewers that he’s been able to get “over 50 to 60 free sandwiches” from Chick-fil-A and he added, “You should always put the plus and whatever the place is that you’re signing up at. Mitski Welcomed Chappell Roan To The ‘Sh*ttiest Exclusive Club In The World’

chappell roan
Getty Image

Chappell Roan has been outspoken about the pressures of being famous. The “Pink Pony Club” singer called out certain fans for their “creepy,” “f*cking weird,” and at times “stalker vibes,” and she recently stated her desire to “draw lines and set boundaries.” A lot of fellow musicians — especially fellow female musicians — can relate.

According to Rolling Stone, Billie Eilish has been “keeping tabs” on Roan, while Paramore’s Hayley Williams direct messaged her, Muna hosted her for dinner, Lorde gave her a “helpful list of things to do at an airport to fly under the radar,” and Lady Gaga passed along her phone number. Two-thirds of Boygenius (Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker) got coffee with Roan and the other third (Phoebe Bridgers) came over to her place to hang and bond over how fan behavior has become increasingly “abusive and violent.”

But it’s Mitski — who unfortunately knows a thing or two about dealing with over-the-line fans — who was the most direct. In an email to Roan, she wrote, “I just wanted to humbly welcome you to the shittiest exclusive club in the world, the club where strangers think you belong to them and they find and harass your family members.”

Roan appreciates the advice she’s received. “I’m not trying to name-drop. I’m trying to tell you there are girls who are good people, who are helping other girls out,” she shared. “I’m name-dropping them because people just need to know that people are good people.”

Melania hypes Trump assassination conspiracies to juice pre-sale of new memoir

Melania Trump(l+r), Donald Trump with bandage on his ear(c)

Melania Trump said police should have arrested Thomas Matthew Crooks, who shot former President Donald Trump, before he was able to attempt to assassinate him in an advertisement for her forthcoming book, Melania.

She also implies that law enforcement was working against the former president.

“There is definitely more to the story,” she said. “And we need to uncover the truth.”

Melania posted the video from her official X account this morning, where she has been advertising her book since July. In it, she also says that the “silence” around the shooting “feels heavy” before the video fades to a copy of her memoir and a link to purchase it.

She also links to her website, which doesn’t mention the assassination, but does hype three editions of her new memoir.

Both ideas—that police purposely didn’t arrest Crooks so he would be able to shoot Trump and America having forgotten that the former president was shot at all—have been popularized in conservative circles since the shooting in July.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, far-right Trump fans declared the attempted assassination an “inside job.” Reporting on the event since revealed Crooks’ father called the police to alert them of his son sometime before the shooting, the Pennsylvania state police chief said officers left their post where they would have seen Crooks before the shooting, and an officer came “face to face” with Crooks minutes beforehand.

The Secret Service also took notice of Crooks 20 minutes before he shot.

But since the shooting, many major political events flooded the news cycle: Trump picked Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) to be his running mate, President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, Vice President Kamala Harris began her run for president, Harris cinched the nomination, and now Trump and Harris are set to go head to head in their official first debate.

But some Trump supporters, and it seems Melania, too, think that the decreasing focus on the Trump assassination attempt is purposeful.

“Trump was shot one month ago and we still don’t have answers or accountability,” a Trump supporter tweeted last month. “The media is flooding the news cycle to distract you. Don’t let them.”

And Melania Trump was flooded with praise for her message.

“I stand with Melania on this one,” Ryan Fournier, the chair of Students for Trump, replied. “We need and deserve answers.”

“Melania has interesting questions that need answers,” another X user said.

“Melania wants answers,” an X user responded. “We all do.”

Melania’s book will go on sale on September 24. But given it was announced just weeks after the assassination attempt, it’s unclear if the book will even address the incident.

Nanny Is Sick And Doesn’t Respond To Her Employer’s After Hours Text Until The Morning. Now They’re Annoyed That It Took Her That Long Because It Put Them In A Bind.

When you’re staying home sick, the last thing you want to do is converse with your employer.

But they need to know what is going on with you.

See why the nanny in this story is in hot water because she didn’t think this concept applied to her.

I am a full-time nanny for a family.

I picked up a nasty cold over the weekend (not COVID) and on Sunday afternoon I informed the family that I would not be coming in on Monday because I am sick.

Most people would find anything that follows surprising.

Monday night, around 8pm, they texted me asking if I was coming in on Tuesday.

I did not reply as I was in bed, tired, and sick, and it was not during business hours: 9am to 6pm.

I texted them this morning at 9am and told them I would not be coming in today (Tuesday).

But she is not on the same page.

They were not happy that I took “too long” to reply.

I reminded them that I am sick, and regardless of that, I do not like answering texts outside of business hours.

This really angered them.

They said they understand it can be a pain to deal with work outside of business hours, but they really needed to know about Tuesday so they could secure backup care.

I understand this, but they should have texted me during my regular working hours. Not 8pm the night before.

AITA?

Here’s what people are saying.

I don’t get why she suggests it’s an employment violation.

I don’t think she realizes how serious this is. Maybe this comment will show her.

It really does take 3 seconds! What is the problem?

Understandable. What other irresponsible things will she do?

Well said. This must have been so stressful for the parents.

I wonder if she got fired.
