‘Joker 2’ Is Officially Rated R Thanks To ‘Brief Full Nudity’ (And Being As Dark And Violent As The Original)

Joker 2 Poster
Warner Bros.

When the first Joker film hit theaters, it blew the doors off the box office despite being a Rated-R movie about Batman’s greatest foe that didn’t actually have Batman in it. Naturally, its sequel Joker: Folie à Deux is going to stick to that winning formula as it adds Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn into the mix.

The film has officially locked down an R-rating as it continues the original’s trend of being a dark, twisted exploration of the Clown Prince of Crime that very liberally apes Martin Scorsese.

Via Variety:

The musical sequel to 2019’s “Joker,” starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, has been rated R for “some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality and brief full nudity,” according to the MPA’s daily ratings bulletin. This is in line with the original “Joker,” which was rated R for “strong bloody violence, disturbing behavior, language and brief sexual images.”

However, amidst all the violence and depravity, the Joker sequel is taking an unexpected swerve by being a full-on “jukebox musical.” Online Joker fans freaked out after learning that the Gaga-starring sequel will include a total of 15 “very well-known songs” including classic show tunes like “That’s Entertainment.”

While director Todd Phillips had teased that the sequel will be a musical, no one fully believed it would go this hard into the genre. It will be interesting to see whether Joker fans will stir up another billion dollar box office now that they know there’s going to be a whole lot of singing and dancing.

Joker: Folie à Deux opens in theaters on October 4.

Trump dreams up ‘Christian Visibility Day’ in response to furor over Biden’s Easter proclamation

Donald Trump in front of cross and american flag

Former President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that Election Day would be called “Christian Visibility Day”—a not-so-subtle reference to the conservative-led uproar over Trans Visibility Day falling on Easter.

“What the hell was Biden thinking when he declared Easter Sunday to be Trans Visibility Day?” Trump asked the crowd at his Wisconsin rally.

Trump’s statement repeated misleading claims from the right over President Joe Biden’s recognition of Trans Visibility Day—which was founded in 2009 and falls every year on the last day of March, unlike Easter Sunday, which changes based on the first full moon after the spring equinox.

The presidential proclamation prompted claims that the administration was “trying to cancel Christianity,” despite Biden himself being Catholic.

Biden has acknowledged Trans Day of Visibility every year since taking office, and White House spokesperson Andrew Bates brushed off the criticism in a statement to ABC News.

“As a Christian who celebrates Easter with family, President Biden stands for bringing people together and upholding the dignity and freedoms of every American,” Bates said. “Sadly, it’s unsurprising politicians are seeking to divide and weaken our country with cruel, hateful, and dishonest rhetoric. President Biden will never abuse his faith for political purposes or for profit.”

Trump, however, played into the criticism, saying that Biden’s proclamation was “such total disrespect to Christians.”

“Nov. 5 is going to be called something else,” he continued. “You know what it’s going to be called? Christian Visibility Day, when Christians turn out at numbers that nobody has ever seen before. Let’s call it Christian Visibility Day.”

Trump also reiterated his proclamation on Truth Social.

“Election Day, November 5th, will be the most important day in the History of our Country. It will also be Christian Visibility Day, the biggest turnout of Christians in the history of our Country!” he wrote.

Trump’s comments come a month after a Fox News poll found Trump to be losing support among white evangelicals to Biden, though he still holds a strong lead. According to the survey, 28% of white evangelical voters said they’d support Biden—up from 23% from the same poll in October.

Doordash Customer Wants Driver To Walk Up Nine Flights Of Stairs For A $1 Tip. Her Response Is Very Relatable.

Source: TikTok/@movesfinancialSource: TikTok/@movesfinancial

Maybe it’s because I used to deliver for DoorDash, but let me tell you, delivery drivers have it a lot harder than you think.

Whether its scammers telling DoorDash they never received the food you gave them, or people who expect you to navigate the most confusing backroads to reach their god-forsaken house.

And that’s just the base responsibilities of the job, not even to mention how little people are willing to tip, especially the people who have the most elaborate delivery instructions!

Well this Dasher had had enough when a customer expected her to walk up nine flights of stairs for an order he only tipped one dollar on, and decided to just leave his food at the front desk!

Check it out!

Source: TikTok/@movesfinancialSource: TikTok/@movesfinancial

Her video starts with a post titled “$1 Tip and customer wants me to walk up 9 flights of stairs” from the r/doordash_drivers subreddit.

I may be biased but I don’t think I even need anymore context, from the title alone I’m on the driver’s side!

For some context, it is impossible to see the particulars of a delivery drop off before accepting the order, but even then, the driver would have no way of knowing they would have to walk up 9 flights of stairs!

Source: TikTok/@movesfinancialSource: TikTok/@movesfinancial

Once the dasher sent the customary photo of where they left the food, the customer, Maedhbh, was none too happy, saying “This is not the location I requested.”

His driver politely explained that his building’s elevator was not in service because of emergency repairs.

But even after his measly one dollar tip, he has the nerve to say that his Dasher should have used the stairs!

Source: TikTok/@movesfinancialSource: TikTok/@movesfinancial

To close her video, @movesfinancial leaves us with one question. “As a dasher, would you walk up 9 flights of stairs for a $1 tip?”

And I have to say, while I am absolutely living vicariously through this Dasher standing her ground on a bad tip, I have to admit I probably would climb those steps.

My reason being I am a complete people pleaser.

But some could argue that when DoorDash sends you an order, you have the option to decline it based on how much you are being paid.

If you knew the tip was only $1 when you accepted it, then some may think you should try to complete the order as best you can.

Check out their video for yourself.

TikTok was definitely pro-dasher, with this customer saying if the building had stairs, then the customer could use them too!

This person said they would never expect their dasher to walk up that many stairs.

But this user disagreed, saying the Dasher should bring it to the door regardless of tip.

This person said if you are gonna make them climb a mountain of stairs, the least you can do is tip them decently!

Source: TikTok/@movesfinancialSource: TikTok/@movesfinancial

And this dasher said that for grocery orders people are even more inconsiderate!

Source: TikTok/@movesfinancialSource: TikTok/@movesfinancial

I can attest to the grocery orders, I would be doing people’s grocery shopping for a month, lugging it up how many flights of stairs, only for them to not tip a single cent!

Oh DoorDashing… I do not miss you.

If you liked that story, check out this one about a 72-year-old woman was told by her life insurance company that her policy was worthless because she’d paid for 40 years. 🙁

Minnie Driver Claims Hard Rain Producers Denied Her A Wetsuit, Wanted Nipples Visible

Minnie also claimed that her complaints were leaked to various media outlets, which led to her being branded as difficult.

“So it’s this sort of — not even existential, this gaslighting, media gaslighting that’s supported by the environment that you are in. And then you have to stay in that environment,” she said.

“You know, we shot that movie for seven months. So, eventually, you do turn on yourself. You do go, ‘It was my fault for saying anything, you stupid big mouth. You should have shut up.’ And that goes in and then alters the way in which you kind of see yourself and your natural inclination to put your hand up and go, ‘This isn’t right,'” she added.

Who Is Claude Frollo From Doja Cat’s ‘Scarlet’ Deluxe?

Doja Cat 2024

Yesterday (April 2), Doja Cat unveiled the (revealing) album cover for her upcoming Scarlet deluxe edition, titled Scarlet II: Claude Frollo. One question that might immediately bring to mind is:

Who Is Claude Frollo From Doja Cat’s Scarlet Deluxe?

Frollo is the antagonist from the 1831 French novel The Hunchback Of Notre-Dame (and Disney’s The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, the animated 1996 film based on the book). Maybe you recognize the Disney version from this commonly used reaction image.

In a The Therapy Gecko Podcast interview from February, Doja explained why she named the project after the character, saying:

“Because he is like a… is he a tyrant? He’s like a… I feel like it connects to the story of Scarlet in some way. And if you look up his personality traits and who he is and his story, you’ll understand kind of the whole connection. There’s a control aspect, like he just abuses his power and his control and is just dogmatic and is just a total c*nt. And all Esmerelda wanted to do was just be creative and sing and dance, but nasty old Claude Frollo was just having a field day on her, just being awful and a bad guy, stinky man.

And this isn’t about anyone in… there’s not anything very personal happening to me with one person. Claude Frollo doesn’t depict a single person in my life. It’s like a metaphor for the people that creatives endure on a daily basis in a bigger picture, a bigger scale.”
