Jennifer Lopez Tour Rebrands Amid Low Ticket Sales

UPDATE A source close to Jennifer told BuzzFeed that the updated name is simply part of the tour’s “updates and news along the way, as with any tour.” They further said, “This conveys the Jennifer Lopez live experience in case there was confusion that this tour is an interpretation of the Amazon Original that she created or singularly with the music from the album.”

This Is Why Rebel Wilson Thinks That Adele “Hates” Her

“Some actresses would get offended if I called them plus-size in this book, so I have to be careful with what I say. This is why, I think, Adele hates me,” the actor purportedly writes. “There was a moment when she was bigger, and some people would confuse us for one another … I am assuming, because to be fair I’ve never asked her.”

Per In Touch Weekly, Rebel goes on to claim that Adele “always quickly turns away” when they’ve crossed paths at events. Rebel then references her Pitch Perfect character as she adds: “As if my fatness might rub off on her if I were near her for more than thirty seconds. That she didn’t like being compared to ‘Fat Amy.’”

Adele has not publicly acknowledged Rebel’s claims, and BuzzFeed has contacted her representative for comment.

Nikola Jokic Gave A Hysterical Quote About Victor Wembanyama’s 9-Block Game

jokic wemby
Altitude Sports

Nikola Jokic put up another monster performance on Tuesday night, with the Nuggets needing every bit of his 42 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists to beat the Spurs.

That’s largely because Victor Wembanyama posted an even more hysterical stat line, recording 23 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, and nine blocks. A few of those came against Jokic, including a very fun sequence in the first half in which Wembanyama got the best of the two-time MVP on both ends before Jokic got him back a little bit with a dunk before Wemby could fly in for the block.

While Jokic had plenty of success against the Spurs, Wembanyama’s ridiculous length did bother him more than most can, with a late fourth quarter block as arguably the most impressive one of the night, as he took a big bump from Jokic, who thought he’d buried Wemby under the rim to free up a layup, only for the long arm of the Frenchman to erase it.

Denver would eventually pull ahead for a 110-105 win, but Wembanyama has certainly garnered Jokic’s respect. After the game he got asked about that early sequence and if he said anything to the rookie star, which led to a hysterical response from Jokic.

It’s a great soundbite from Jokic, and it really speaks to how there’s just nothing you can really do to avoid Wembanyama’s impact on the defensive end. The only way to ensure he doesn’t pile up the blocks is just not attempting shots around him, which was the strategy the Nuggets opted for late and were rewarded with the go-ahead three by Michael Porter Jr. after Christian Braun made a fairly incredible business decision with Wemby lurking.

That’s really the only foolproof strategy for going at the Spurs at this moment, otherwise you’re just going to have to live with some rejections at the rim and hope you get the win so you can laugh about it all after.

Chance The Rapper And Kirsten Corley Are Getting A Divorce

For at least the last six years, the biggest knock against Chance The Rapper by his detractors was that he was too big of a “wife guy” — especially on his (unfairly maligned) album, The Big Day. It looks like whenever he releases his next album, Star Line Gallery, they won’t have that to use as a bludgeon; Chance and his wife Kirsten Corley announced today that they are getting a divorce after a trial separation.

In a joint statement posted on their Instagram Stories, Chance and Kirsten wrote:

After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways.

We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together.

We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition.

Thank you

-Chance & Kirsten

As noted in the statement, the now-former couple shares two daughters, Kensli Bennett and Marli Grace Bennett. For what it’s worth, Chance will have plenty to keep him busy for the foreseeable future; in addition to his coaching duties on The Voice, he will presumably go on tour for Star Line Gallery, which has a tentative release date of this spring.

The haters have won; love is dead. I hope you dorks are happy now.

The FCC is finally voting on restoring net neutrality—3 years after Biden took office

United States seen on globe with connections

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will vote later this month on restoring net neutrality rules rescinded during former President Donald Trump’s administration, FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel announced on Wednesday.

The vote comes over three years into President Joe Biden’s administration.

Net neutrality is the principle that internet service providers must treat all data on the internet fairly, meaning that companies like Verizon or Comcast can’t favor certain data with faster speeds and throttle or slow down access to other material.

In 2017, the GOP-led FCC repealed the federal government’s net neutrality rules established during the Obama administration.

In response, states like California pushed strong laws to challenge big telecom in the absence of federal oversight.

“After the prior administration abdicated authority over broadband services, the FCC has been handcuffed from acting to fully secure broadband networks, protect consumer data, and ensure the internet remains fast, open, and fair,” Rosenworcel said in a statement announcing the vote. “A return to the FCC’s overwhelmingly popular and court-approved standard of net neutrality will allow the agency to serve once again as a strong consumer advocate of an open internet.”

The announcement is a formality, as the Democrat-led FCC will likely approve the measure. However, the process of implementing them if approved gets difficult, given how close the announcement comes to the 2024 election. If Trump were to defeat Biden, the Democrats would lose their majority on the FCC.

While the Biden administration continually advocated for the restoration of federal net neutrality rules, the administration’s inability to fully staff the FCC for more than half his presidency prevented any actual action.

Biden dithered on nominating a fifth commissioner to the FCC, and when he finally picked Gigi Sohn, allowed her to twist in the wind for over a year before she withdrew her nomination.

Given the administration’s slow walk even after his FCC got a majority in September 2023, when the Senate approved Anna Gomez, some have questioned Biden’s commitment to the movement. When he announced his campaign for president, Biden’s first fundraiser was with a big telecom executive.

If the rules are restored, Rosenworcel says the FCC would once again play a role in preventing “broadband providers from blocking, slowing down, or creating pay-to-play internet fast lanes;” conducting oversight of broadband outages and boosting security of networks; increasing consumer protections; and restoring a national standard on internet access.

The announcement marks progress toward a longstanding goal of Rosenworcel, who denounced the 2017 decision as putting the FCC “on the wrong side of history, the wrong side of the law, and the wrong side of the American public.”

The move, which has long been expected, is already facing GOP backlash

“The Biden FCC’s net neutrality proposal is a solution—a heavy-handed government solution—in search of a problem, and it’s likely to create problems where none exist.” Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) said in January. “Given the Biden administration’s demonstrated willingness to use its regulatory power to advance its far-left economic and social agendas, it’s not hard to imagine the Biden administration using its new net neutrality powers to shape Americans’ internet experience for its own ends.”

In October, 41 Republican senators including Thune signed onto a letter rebuking Rosenworcel’s efforts to reinstate the Obama-era rules.

“Re-imposing heavy-handed, public-utility regulations on the internet would threaten the progress our country has made since 2017, and it would steer our country out of the fast lane and into a world of less competition for consumers, less choice, less investment, slower speeds, and higher prices,” the senators wrote, arguing the FCC “lacks this statutory authority over broadband internet access.”

But proponents of net neutrality rules argue the oversight would promote an open internet and free speech.

“Fair and open access to the Internet underpins virtually every aspect of American life,” Alan Davidson, an administrator at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration said in March. “The Biden administration supports the FCC’s efforts to put rules in place that preserve an open internet, promote national security, and protect consumers.”

Who Is Artemas? Meet The ‘I Like The Way You Kiss Me’ Singer

This week, a new song called “I Like The Way You Kiss Me” by the singer Artemas has made its way to No. 1 on the global Spotify chart with over eight million streams. Following the announcement of the rising musician taking over, many online had questions about who exactly he is — and how the song got so big.

Here’s what to know about him.

Who Is Artemas? Meet The “I Like The Way You Kiss Me” Singer

Artemas is an English-Cypriot singer who was born in 1999. His first single, “High 4 U,” dropped in November 2020. He has since followed that up with “If U Think I’m Pretty,” which got a boost of viral popularity and landed him on the UK Singles Chart this past February. That same month, he dropped his mixtape titled Pretty.

He hasn’t slowed down either, which led to the release of “I Like The Way You Kiss Me.” The song so far has reached No. 13 in the UK, and is charting even higher in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. By getting a boost from listeners around the globe, this has totaled up to earning him the top spot on Spotify — even if people in the US haven’t heard of him or the song yet.

As for Artemas’ placements on the US charts, the song is currently at No. 8 on Billboard‘s Hot Alternative Songs chart and No. 70 on the Hot 100 overall.

Check out Artemas’ “I Like The Way You Kiss Me” above.
