Donate secretly. It is mentioned in the hadith that charity should be done secretly in such a way that the left hand does not know if the right hand donates. In this way, the donor will be sheltered under the shade of the Throne of Almighty Allah. But it is permissible to donate publicly with the intention that someone will be encouraged to donate if they see him or others will come forward.
