The home of the 3rd Caliph of Islām, Sayyidunā ʿUthmān bin ʿAffān, was under attack for 40 days by the Khawārij. He fasted for 39 days, and on the 40th night, he saw the Prophet ﷺ in a dream who said, “Today, you shall break the fast with us!” He woke up ecstatic like it was ʿEid because the day of reuniting with the Beloved ﷺ had come. [Dalāʿil al-Nubuwwah]

‎The Prophet ﷺ once climbed the mountain of Uḥud with Abū Bakr, ʿUmar, and ʿUthmān. The mountain shook with them. The Prophet ﷺ said (to the mountain), “Be firm, O Uḥud! For on you there is a Prophet, a Ṣiddīq, and two martyrs.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī]

‎The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ stated: “Every Prophet will have a friend in Paradise, and my friend there will be ʿUthmān bin ʿAffān.” [Sunan Ibn Mājah]
