“My boyfriend is 15 years older; I’m 33 (female). What I’ve found is that, strangely, he is more obsessed about receiving timely texts, good morning and good night texts, and frequently worries if I am okay if he doesn’t hear from me for a couple of hours. It’s funny that I, as a millennial, almost despise my phone and the expectation of people to contact me whenever they want and wish I could just have a landline. He, as a Gen X’er, literally considers it like a privilege and a LIFEline, and I find that surprising.”

“I’m not sure if that’s typical or if he thinks I SHOULD be super attentive to my phone and every text message due to my age, but it’s been two and a half years, and I’m just like, ‘I’m sorry!’ If my Apple Watch is charging, I don’t notice any notifications on my phone, nor can I ever find my phone because that locator is the main reason I purchased one. Alternately, if my phone is on silent, or sometimes goes into Focus mode due to my attempt to have a healthy sleep schedule, I forget I even own it.”
