FIELD NOTES FROM THE FUNNY OR DIE STAFF

The Step Up movies remain one of my all time favorite dumb franchises. They are so insanely watchable — beautiful people dancing their molecules off to some of the best-worst pop music at the time in between truly epically bad dialogue exchanges — that I literally cannot NOT watch it, even if it’s on silent in an airport lounge, or even if it’s playing on the iPhone of the passenger in seat 5F on Delta flight 680 to Gainesville.

I mean look at it:

So adding a dancing Tom Holland AND Jake Gyllenhaal in the mix now you’re talking the definition of my dream movie. Because we actually have stakes that might justify one of the all time cheesiest lines from a dance movie, uttered by Moose in Step Up 3:

“People dance because dance can change things. One move, can bring people together. One move, can make you believe like there’s something more. One move, can set a whole generation free.”

The clip you’re about to see went viral with nearly three million views in just a few days. It all started when a man known as Mr. Tao accompanied his wife to a prenatal checkup when she was four months pregnant with identical twin girls.

The twins from China were given the nicknames ‘Cherry’ and ‘Strawberry’ after their mother’s favorite fruits. They shared the same amniotic sac and placenta as monochorionic monoamniotic twins, or Mo-Mo twins — one of the highest types of risks involved with twin pregnancies.

Mr Tao. had seen the unborn sisters interacting before. During one of his wife’s amniotic fluid tests, he saw one of the twins cuddling up against the other. But on this particular day, the dad-to-be saw a different scene completely. This time, the twins were seemingly “boxing with each other for a few rounds,” punching and kicking one another from inside Mom’s womb!

Fortunately, both Cherry and Strawberry were born healthy at 32 weeks via caesarean section. They’re the first pair of Mo-Mo twins the hospital had ever successfully delivered.

Daniel Casey’s been a blacksmith since the age of 12.

Daniel knew he wanted to be a blacksmith ever since he was a kid. According to his bio on the History Channel’s site, the blacksmith “built his first forge and began making knives at the age of 12. At age 14, he apprenticed with world-reknowned blacksmith Hershel House learning the skills required to become a professional blacksmith.”

These days, he’s one of the few blacksmiths who dedicates all of his time to forging knives, rifles, and guns using only traditional methods. He also started his own company, Casey Arms, based out of Arkansas, where he makes a variety of historic weapons along with his brother Charlie and nephew, Jonathan.
