In tonight’s episode, airing April 4 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC, That’s My Jam’s new faces include Keke Palmer, Saweetie, Joel McHale, and will.i.am. In preparation for their musical showdown, read on for more information about each of tonight’s guest stars.

Keke Palmer

Keke Palmer

Emmy Award winner Keke Palmer is in the house during the April 4 episode of That’s My Jam! Keke nabbed her Emmy in 2021 for playing all five characters in the satirical Facebook Watch series Turnt Up with the Taylors — which she also co-created, co-wrote, and produced.

Well before Turnt Up with the Taylors, the singer and actor stole the show in Doug Atchison’s 2006 drama Akeelah and the Bee. She continued to shine as a child star in projects like the 2007 DCOM Jump In! and Nickelodeon’s sitcom True Jackson, VP.

Now, Keke is a superstar known for roles in critically acclaimed blockbusters like Lorene Scafaria’s Hustlers and Jordan Peele’s Nope.

We adore the new mama and style icon because she knows exactly who she is. Her 2022 Saturday Night Live monologue says it all: “I asked myself, ‘Keke, who will you be? Will you be like a Maya Rudolph, Eddie Murphy, a Kristen Wiig type?’ And now that I’m here I can tell you exactly who I am. Baby, I’m Keke Palmer.”

Saweetie

Saweetie

Known for hit songs like “Best Friend” — which features Grammy Award winner Doja Cat — and “My Type,” Grammy nominee Saweetie is a celebrated rap darling.

After graduating from the University of Southern California in 2016, Saweetie “turned her childhood love of poetry and rhyming over YouTube videos into a musical career,” per her Apple Music bio. Her gold-certified 2017 single “ICY GRL” spawned from her spitting over Khia’s iconic song “My Neck, My Back.”

Since releasing “ICY GRL,” Saweetie has put out EPs like 2018’s High Maintenance and 2019’s ICY. Her long-awaited debut album, Pretty B–ch Music, has been delayed for about two years. The talented Candy Crush addict (yes, really) is clearly a perfectionist.

“I feel like a debut album is not something you just put out,” she told E! News. “It’s not something you play with. I’m a Cancer so I like to overthink sometimes, but I think you have to be really careful with that and I take my art really serious.”

Joel McHale

Joel McHale

Emmy Award nominee Joel McHale has been in the biz for decades. The actor, TV host, stand-up comedian, and author got his start in the ’90s as a cast member on local Seattle comedy show Almost Live! — which also starred Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Though he’s perhaps most known for poking fun at the Kardashians on E!’s satirical pop culture news show The Soup from 2004 to 2015 (as well as hosting Netflix’s short-lived series The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale), Joel has since dominated the television realm, landing major roles in hit shows like NBC’s Community and the CW’s Stargirl.

Currently, Joel leads Fox’s 2023 sitcom Animal Control, which follows “a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.”

will.i.am

will.i.am

You know William James Adams Jr. as rapper, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, actor, and record producer will.i.am. He discussed the origins of his unique stage name in a 2011 interview with The New York Times.

“I liked playing with words. I noticed that my name was a sentence, meaning one with will, who is strong-willed,” he shared.

The strong-willed artist is famously a founding member of the Black Eyed Peas, one boasting a whopping seven Grammy Awards (and 26 total nominations) and an Emmy Award.

When he’s not putting out music with the Black Eyed Peas or producing for artists like Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, U2, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, et cetera, will.i.am works solo. He’s released a handful of solo albums including 2003’s Must B 21 and 2013’s #willpower.

Catch Keke Palmer, Saweetie, Joel McHale, and will.i.am on tonight’s episode of That’s My Jam, airing April 4 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
