Wendy Williams was the subject of one of her own “Hot Topics” this week. On Monday’s show, Wendy shared a story about a recent shopping trip she took with Real Housewives Of Atlanta stars Nene Leakes and Marlo Hampton. She explains that security at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City racially profiled the three women.

Wendy, Nene, and Marlo were enjoying a luxury shopping spree. The ladies purchased everything from lingerie to evening gowns. They even had lunch in the store’s restaurant. As they went back to shopping, they noticed security had taken a particular interest in them.

“Can I tell you about the security? They treated us like the hood,” Wendy said, motioning to her skin color when saying “us.”

Marlo spoke to Inside Edition and said Wendy tipped the trio off to the fact they were being followed. “It was a little uncomfortable then,” Marlo noted.

Wendy noted that the racial profiling incident is particularly absurd when you consider each of the ladies’ fame. “You can earn what you want, you can do what you want but when you are what you are, you better not be surprised at how people treat you,” Wendy said. “We were followed … like [security] might have to do something.”

Security also said that Wendy and the women couldn’t post photos taken inside the store. “So when this place tells me I can’t post this picture, I’m like ‘You know what, I’m posting on hot topics then and I’m going to tell you exactly what it is,’” Wendy noted.

Bergdorf Goodman has not commented on the incident.
