We are talking about temporal power here ,and patriarchy, but this mantra of Daulat Ana, Daulat Ana , Daulat Ana has gone too far . If you have to judge the two wives of Osman Ghazi in this drama , judge them by their characterisation not by which wife won the race for producing a son first .

Bala made the greatest sacrifice a woman can make for the benefit of her husband and tribe . Malhun Hatun ‘s worldly status has been highly eulogised on these pages , but as two characters in Mr Bozdag’s drama , what is Malhun’s contribution , except that , she walked into Osman’s life by proxy , danced her way into a marriage , threw fits of jealousy even after she gave Osman a son, till Bala saved her from being poisoned and made her understand the greater cause for which jealousy was out of place .
It seems some viewers on the page resent Bala …I feel her characterisation is more sophisticated , and engaging , she is a perfectly rounded character , and has made a great impact in her first major role.
