Three-year-old Ahlora was having fun on the playground in her Greensboro, North Carolina apartment complex when the unthinkable happened under the night sky.

A young woman who’d been at the playground interacting with some of the adults and several children in a “suspicious way” reportedly kidnapped Ahlora, fleeing the scene with her before anyone could stop her.

With the suspect at large, the police department asked the entire community to come together in the effort to find Ahlora.

police received a call on the tip line that a girl was found walking along the road near a local Christian Center about six miles from where she was abducted. It was Ahlora.

Thanks to the public’s help, the suspect has since been identified and charged with first-degree kidnapping.

In the clip below, Ahlora returns home from the hospital. “Mommy, I want to go home,” she told her very grateful stepmother.
