Today, January 25nd, 1578 marks the death of daughter of Suleiman the Magnificent and Hürrem Sultan, Mihrimah Sultan 🤲🏻

Leaving behind a legacy of giving charities generosity, Mihrimah Sultan is remembered for her numerous contributions to the Ottoman Empire. She had several mosques, fountains, hospitals, colleges, primary schools, soup kitchens and public baths built in her name. Mihrimah Sultan also donated 50.000 pieces of gold to repair the Ayn -I Zübeyde waterway in Mekka after it had been severely damaged by a sandstorm in order to keep Hajji hydrated on their journey to fulfill the Hajji rituals from around the world. She was dearly loved by her father Suleiman the Magnificent whom she supported accompanying in battles and by advising him 🖊️🤲🏻
