💠🌹•••••❤Usman Ghazi (Rah:)❤••••🌹💠

On this day, February 13, 1258, the Ottoman Turkish leader and the founder of the Ottoman dynasty, Amirul Muminin Amir Gazi Usman bin Ertugul, was born to Ertuğul Gazi and Halima Hatun in Segut, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire and the city of Bilasik Province in present-day Turkey.

On 17 January 1299, Uthman declared independence of his small kingdom from the Sultanate of Rum and assumed the title of Khan of the Qayi tribe. The Ottoman Empire was one of the small Turkish states that emerged in Anatolia after the collapse of the Seljuks. Among these states, the Ottomans eventually united Anatolia under Turkish rule.

The Ottomans believed from the earliest times that Uthman I was named after the third Rashidun Caliph Uthman ibn Affan. But according to some scholars his original name is Turkic which may be Atman or Ataman and later changed to Osman. Old Byzantine sources, including Uthman’s contemporary George Pekimares, refer to him as Atuman or Atman, while Greek sources refer to him as Uthman. In an old Arabic source his name is written with ط instead of ث.

Usman Ghazi respected the famous Shaikh Edibali and valued his opinion.

The dream he saw while staying at Edibali’s dargah one night, he told Edibali the next day. He said, “My Shaykh, I saw you in a dream. A moon appeared on your chest. It rose and descended on my chest. A tree rose from my navel. It grew and branched so much that its shadow covered the whole world. done. What is the meaning of this dream??”

After a moment of silence Edibali explained:

“Congratulations Usman! Almighty Allah has granted sovereignty to you and your progeny. My daughter will be your wife and the whole world will be under the protection of your children.”

Osman’s dream played a strong role in the rise of the Ottoman Empire. The dream was an important literary element for Ottoman scholars.

In his married life, Uthman married Rabia Bala Hatun, the daughter of his beloved Shaykh Edibali, in 1280. Later, he married Malhun Hatun, the daughter of Umar Bey.

Among his children, he left behind six sons and a daughter named Fatima.
