Today, 30 sept 1538, exactly 503 years ago, 10th Ottoman sultan Suleiman the Magnificent ascended the throne. He succeeded his father Sultan Selim I and became the 2nd Ottoman Calıph or the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. 🤴🏻
Under Suleiman, the Ottomam Empire reached the peak of it glory. The 15 / 16th century is known as the Magnificent Century because of the cultural, social and economic development of the empire.
This era also noticed a huge development in educational, intellectual and religious aspects of life. The Art, Music and Architecture experienced a huge growth.
A number of military campaigns were also sent by Suleiman. A himself participated in many of them. A number of new territories were also annexed to the empire.
Sultan Suleiman died in 1566 during the Siege of Szigetvar. Even after his death, the Ottomans conquered Szigetvar. He ruled for 46 years ✏️📜
