This week my column in The New Daily digs deep to explore the geology of the Australian workforce. Cutting into the population profile of Australia we see a crosssection as we see in geology textbooks. The three bottom layers (blue-ish) make up 54 per cent of the population. This slight majority of Australians doesn’t actively drive the economic productivity of the nation. The 46 per cent in the two red-ish layers need to ensure economic riches for the whole nation. How to drive productivity? It’s not as simple as just working harder. We must embrace technology and rethink how we work to drive up productivity.
