This is the blessed resting place of our mother, the wife of Sayyidunā Ādam, Sayyidah Ḥawā’ (peace and blessings be upon both) – known as Eve in the Bible. It is situated in the city of Jeddah, about 22 kilometers south of King ‘Abdul ‘Azīz International Airport. The grave is very long, in conformity with what has been reported of the heights of the people at that time.
It was at this place that she descended when she left the heavens, which is why it was named Jeddah (جدة), meaning ‘grandmother’ (according to some historians).
