A ferry was making its way through the Gulf of Corinth, an inlet off the coast of Greece, when someone on the boat focused his camera on a tiny black speck out in the water.
As the boat grew closer, that tiny speck revealed itself to be a four-year-old girl, floating on a giant colorful inflatable unicorn float. She was all alone in the middle of the water.
She’d somehow gotten swept away by the currents and ended up about half a mile out to sea!
According to reports, her terrified parents called port authorities as soon as they realized she’d drifted farther and farther away.
We’ve seen stories like this before. In 2018, a Florida mom named Tara Myers took her son on a giant inflatable swan raft just like the one in this story. It wasn’t long before the current swept the mother and son several miles out into the Gulf of Mexico. “I have never been more scared in my entire life,” she told WFLA 8.
