The small independent Muslim state in the region of Anatolia. The capital city of Karasids was Balikesir and they controlled much of Western Anatolia.
In the late 15 century, the Ottomans under the leadership of Sultan Orhan Ghazi captured the Karasid capital of Balikesir and defeated the Karasid army in a series of battles.
Karasid became the first province (Sanjak) of the Ottoman empire.
