The Conwy Valley Line, Conwy/Gwynedd, Wales
Hi all! I make maps of railways, including Heritage, Historic, and Public Transit
ones. Previously Ive made maps for all London Overground and
Underground lines, and now Im making ones for the National Rail Network. The
Conwy Valley Line is a 30 mile line in North Wales, connecting the
seaside town of Llandudno to the slates mines in Blaenau Ffestiniog,
connecting with the North Wales Coast Line at Llandudno Junction. The
line was opened in 1879 by the London and North Western Railway and has
13 stations, many of which are request stops. At Blaenau Ffestiniog, the
line meets the famous narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway. The Red Castle
Illustration comes from the coat of arms of Conwy County Borough,
representing Conwy Castle.
