Sultan Nureddin Zengi was one of the greatest Rulers and Mujahids of his era and of Islam. He was from the Oghuz Turkic Zengid dynasty and ruled over parts of Syria and Iraq. Nureddin first governed Aleppo and then became the ruler of Damascus in 1154. During his rule, the people recognized him as a pious and just man who ruled and fought only for the sake of Allah.
