Simon shows you maps in real life. At the Australian Local Government Women’s Association I showed the Double Net Exporter map that I recently created for my column in The New Daily. As Australian exports continue to grow the economy, as population numbers go up, local governments will be tasked with managing this growth. I expect stricter housing and infrastructure quotas to be handed down from state and national governments to local councils. Decision making on the housing front will be more centralised. Not necessarily what local councils will want to hear but I am reasonably certain that’s what the future will hold.
