Siblings Think Marine Brother Recorded A Message From Miles Away When He Walks Into The Room

“Our first song demonstrates our feelings towards our Veterans.”

In honor of Veterans Day, the elementary students at Dooley Elementary School in Illinois held a recital honoring veterans and families of veterans. Two of the performers were Mikey and his little sister Mia, a pair of siblings who know firsthand how difficult it can be when a loved one is away, fighting for our country.

Mikey and Mia’s older brother, Lance Cpl. Brandon Williamson, is a Marine who has been stationed in Camp Pendleton, California.

Little did they know their big ‘bro (and the school administrators) had been keeping a huge secret behind the scenes.

Brandon wasn’t supposed to return back home to Illinois until the holidays. But when he heard about his siblings’ big Veterans Day concert, he immediately changed his plans and booked a flight home.

He kept it a complete and total surprise, but hit a snag on the way back.

Brandon’s flight ended up getting delayed, so he missed the majority of the concert. He quickly sent the school a video message he taped on his phone for Micky and Mia to watch alongside the concert attendees. “Thank you to everybody who served,” Brandon said to the camera, still wearing his uniform.

Mikey and Mia watched the taped message and became emotional at the sight of their beloved brother. What they didn’t know was that Brandon was on route to their school…
