The video in question begins with a text overlay that sets the stage for the interaction captured in the clip: “Entitled professor assumes he has the class for the final.”

The man in a horizontally striped sweater and baseball cap, the “entitled” UCLA professor in question, can be seen standing over a desk in the classroom arguing with a woman behind a desk.

He can be heard saying “…final’s location’s changed, and yours is going to change right now. Because I have over 70 students, you have 35. So the smart, practical thing to do is —,” It’s at this point in the conversation that the professor standing at the desk interjects.

“You made an assumption that you have this room.”

“Yeah I made that assumption because for fifteen years I’ve taken the final exam in the same classroom I’ve taught in always and because —”

She interjected again, “Where, what room are you assigned for the final?”

He insists that it’s the hall that they’re currently standing in. “This one right here.”

The female professor, who is still standing calmly behind the table, sounds like she is requesting documentation that proves he indeed has the classroom booked for his final “I want to see it on your —,”

But he cuts her off, claiming that he doesn’t need to procure any proof for using the space: “I don’t have to because I never have been assigned a finals room. The reason is because I always take the final in the same classroom I teach in.”

The other professor standing behind the desk replied right back questioning that if this is very well the case, then why is it that he wasn’t scheduled to administer his final in the room?

“Well then why don’t they have it blocked out?”

“Don’t know! It’s an imperfect world,” he tells her, but she sticks to her guns: “So why can’t you call…and ask them to move me? Why do I have to solve the problem when we’re in the slot we’re supposed to be?”

The man refuses to let go of the classroom he’s been accustomed to handing out tests in, as he says, for the last fifteen years: “Then I will call your department and your administration and solve this problem. What’s the number?” the man asks her.

“I don’t know if offhand,” the woman tells him as she begins to look at and interact with her smartphone.

The TikToker who uploaded the video didn’t mince words when it came to what he thought of the male professor’s behavior: “Ucla film teacher embarrassed himself today,” they penned.

It didn’t seem like there were many other users who responded to the clip who had a favorable opinion of the film professor’s behavior either: “Wait the professor didn’t check his Syllabus and now he’s asking for an accommodation?”

Someone else found his demeanor and decision to engage in a loud argument in front of the female professor’s class to be a condescending move: “He deliberately belittled another professor in front of room full of students. That’s embarrassing and disruptive, couldn’t check the class location”

Another TikToker thought that the woman standing behind the desk made some excellent points in her conversation with the male professor: “I loved ‘why do I have to fix YOUR problem’ yessssss”

Several other users who watched the clip tagged UCLA’s TikTok account in what seems to be an attempt to get the University to investigate the incident.

Several viewers thought the other teacher being a woman ultimately influenced the male professor’s behavior towards her.

“I guarantee he’s speaking to her that way because she’s a little person. No way he would’ve spoken to an average sized professor like that esp a male,” one wrote.

Another said, “He would NOT talk to a MAN like that gauranteed.”
