An annual tradition to start every NBA season is Charles Barkley going on <em>Inside the NBA</em> on TNT and illustrating how little he paid attention to the offseason player shuffle with a game of &#8220;Who He Play For?&#8221; On Tuesday night&#8217;s show, Barkley went 0-5 after missing on players like the Lakers&#8217; Alfonzo McKinnie and the Bulls&#8217; Garrett Temple, which was admittedly entertaining.

However later in the show, Ernie Johnson was plugging a new addition to the show’s social media strategy for the new season, which allows fans of Inside to play “Who He Play For?” on Instagram and compete with Chuck, when Barkley started feeling himself and boasted that he could surely beat “the public.”

Those are strong words from a man who had just literally gotten zero of the questions right minutes beforehand, but of course it’s Barkley, so he’s going to be cocky. The response from Johnson, though, was the punchline to the whole encounter:

Way to say what we’re all thinking, EJ! The game is fun and all, but at a certain point, you’ve gotta question how Barkley gets away with not knowing some of these guys. It’s not like Temple is a deep cut by any means, he was just playing in the Bubble and was a key figure in the players’ union during negotiations this year. Not that Barkley needs to know every Bulls eighth man, but most of these guys are in NBA rotations right now. They may very well be on TNT’s airwaves before long.

Johnson said what we were all thinking and Barkley, in a rare moment, was speechless.

So, what cult was Elizabeth Lyn Vargas from ‘RHOC’ in?

Born in West Plains, Mo., Elizabeth joined the Faith Bible Tabernacle at an early age. 

“I was raised in a very, very religious situation, where I was told to absolutely not open my mouth, or tell the truth about what was happening, and I have a very, very hard issue with stopping the compartmentalization because I grew up in this horrible situation,” Elizabeth revealed.

“It was very, very hard for me. I was always scared for my life because we were beaten so bad that I thought for sure I was going to die one day of it,” she added. 

Earlier on in the episode, she also shared a few snippets of information about the role her relatives played in the day-to-day running of the Faith Bible Tabernacle. 

“My grandmother was the leader of the church and my father was the preacher and my family really wanted me to be a preacher,” Elizabeth revealed in a confessional.

However, she realized that it was best to approach their directives with a pinch of salt, and that sometimes, feigning interest was the best strategy. 

“When I was eight years old, my grandmother asked me to speak in tongues in front of the church, and she says, ‘The Lord needs to speak through Elizabeth.’ And I just faked it, and they all bought it — in fact, even a member passed out,” Elizabeth revealed.

“I grew up garbage-can poor,” Elizabeth remarked on the Season 15 premiere of ‘RHOC.’

Although Elizabeth is regarded as one of the most affluent cast members currently appearing on the show — as the ex-wife of Norwegian businessperson Bernt O. Bodal, she receives $31,000 in monthly spousal support — she wasn’t born into a life of luxury. 

Previously, she described her childhood as disagreeable, hinting that she was raised in an unhealthy environment.

It’s understood that Elizabeth developed an understanding of the complications arising from financial deficiencies at an early age — and she claims that the lifestyle she and her family led was far from opulent.

On December 31st, 2017, the Fox television network presented “New Year’s Eve With Steve Harvey: Live From Times Square,” a New Year’s eve countdown program hosted by comedian and television personality Steve Harvey. During the broadcast, Harvey was outfitted in a large white coat, a hood that resembled a wetsuit and a round, white hat (video below).

People reacted to Harvey’s outfit in real time, commenting on Twitter about his appearance. That night, Twitter user @TheLesterLee tweeted a picture from the special and the caption ”Steve Harvey looks like a Batman villain that has captured Times Square and will kill civilians unless Batman answers all of his riddles.” The post (shown below, left) received more than 4,400 retweets and 11,000 likes in two days. Twitter user @SheHatesJAcoby tweeted, “Steve Harvey dressed like your Uncle who just won his divorce.” Within two days, The post (shown below, center received more than 4,700 retweets and 11,600 likes.

Additionally, people began photoshopping the image. Twitter user @drewdavis71 manipulated the photo to make Harvey’s face appear smaller. He captioned the post (shown below, right) “Steve Harvey bundled like a mofo,” and received more than 7,700 retweets and 23,000 likes in two days.

That night, Twitter user @MrFilmkritik compared Harvey to actress Olivia Pope. He tweeted a side-by-side comparison of the two and added the caption “Steve Harvey out there looking like Olivia Pope.” The (shown below) received more than 15,000 retweets and 46,000 likes in two days.

Four years ago, The Weeknd said that he would not make music about politics. But after a full year of tragic global events, the singer can&#8217;t help but center his upcoming music around some of 2020&#8217;s unfortunate-yet-memorable moments. After his album <em>After Hours</em> was snubbed by the Grammys, the singer is already starting to work on his next LP — and it&#8217;s inspired by the Black Lives Matter protests, the pandemic, and the tensions in the U.S. election.

The Weeknd opened up about his next album’s plans in an upcoming 100-page zine for Tmrw. In his interview, the singer offered some insight into his musical inspirations:

“I have been more inspired and creative during the pandemic than I might normally be while on the road…The pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement and the tensions of the election have mostly created a sense of gratitude for what I have and closeness with the people near me.”

Elsewhere in the piece, The Weeknd added that he thinks After Hours is a way of culminating his decade in the music industry. “I was laser focused back then and I’m laser focused right now,” he said. “This has been the story of my 20s. I feel like I spent the last 10 years creating a sound and most of my career I’ve either been running away from it or duplicating it. After Hours was the perfect piece of art for me to show my tenure in the industry.”

His discussions about infusing politics into his music marks a drastic shift just a few years earlier in his career. Back in 2016, the singer opened up about his support for the Black Lives Matter protests, saying that he donated a large sum of money but wasn’t ready for his music to reflect his political views. “I wish I could make music about politics,” he said in a 2016 interview with V Man Magazine. “I feel like it’s such an art and a talent that I admire tremendously, but when I step into the studio I step out of the real world, and it’s therapeutic. It’s an escape, but recently it’s been very hard to ignore, and it’s also been very distracting. Maybe you’ll hear it in my voice, but it is not my forté.”
