What Does Being Branded Mean on ‘Yellowstone’? Here’s What We Know

Walker, a former prisoner, and Jimmy, who used to cook crystal meth, also received their brands courtesy of Rip. Rip practices what he preaches too. He has a brand himself. John Dutton’s son Kayce has the brand, and Lloyd, one of the ranch OGs, sports the marking. Ryan’s got himself a brand as well.

Amy Schumer Explains Why She Removed Her Facial Fillers

“I tried getting fillers. Turns out I was already full.”

When Amy Schumer had major surgery earlier this year as part of a treatment plan to manage endometriosis, she gave fans an honest look at her medical journey online. The actor and comedian did the same after undergoing a cosmetic procedure in the spring and again over the holiday weekend.

Those who follow Amy on social media may recall the candid Instagram video she posted in the midst of a CoolSculpting appointment last April.

We aren’t sure exactly how she felt about that procedure’s outcome, but the star did share her thoughts on another one yesterday.

In her latest Instagram post, Amy explained that she recently opted for dermal fillers, which are injections meant to add volume to different areas of the face while lessening the appearance of lines.

The results are usually temporary. But it sounds like Amy wasn’t a fan of hers, so she decided to reverse the procedure.

“I tried getting fillers. Turns out I was already full,” she captioned a selfie taken inside what appeared to be a dermatologist’s office. “Thank God you can dissolve them I looked like #malificent.”

The photo showed Amy flashing a peace sign toward the camera and smiling through some kind of white foamy substance that covered both cheeks. Her dermatologist, Dr. LoGerfo, later explained that dissolving facial fillers is a “very simple and quick” process involving “hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid)” administered via injection.

People took to the comments section of Amy’s Instagram post with reactions to her life update. Many of them, including actor Isla Fisher, supported the star’s decision to remove the fillers and pointed to her natural good looks, plus the fact that Hollywood reinforces social pressure to seek cosmetic enhancements with age.

“You are so beautiful!” Isla commented. “No fillers needed.”

You can read more about dermal fillers and how to remove them here.

Lauren Boebert Is Tweeting Gibberish Now, And People Are Wondering What The Heck is Really Going On

Back in 2017 (a simpler time, comparatively speaking), then-President Trump unleashed a typo heard ’round the world. This led to the magical invention of “covfefe,” which Trump subsequently ruined by responding to the tweet. Well, Lauren Boebert is a ride-or-die fan of Trump, so maybe there’s some subconscious imitation that’s happening with her latest (bizarre) tweet. Or maybe she’s simply typing gibberish on her own?

It’s difficult to say what’s really amiss here, other than to say that something is wrong because Boebert essentially made up a word while attempting to insult President Biden. “It’s almost the end of 2021,” the rootin’ tootin’ representative tweeted. “[A]nd I’ve yet to see Biden mobilize truinternatialdepressure like he promised. What’s the hold up?”

Wow. Naturally, “truinternatialdepressure” is being googled here and there while people wonder if maybe, just maybe, this is a term that’s been invented by the far-right, who is still (somehow) running the “Let’s Go Brandon” ball into the ground. Yet this seems a lot more like a genuine typo, or like Boebert attempted to type a clever amalgamation of some sort, and the effort backfired.

Or perhaps she simply sneezed while typing? Who knows. Regardless, people are noticing the new “covfefe.”

And everyone’s wondering what on earth Boebert really intended to say with this declaration. Surely, this was a phone tweet, no? That’s no excuse, though, but she’s so far leaving the tweet up (whereas she has been known to delete those tweets while attempting to scrub previous errors).

In addition, some people would like to know why the Rifle Republican has yet to mention the latest mass shooting in her state of Colorado. That’s a fair question, but so far, no comment from Boebert.

Where Are the New Year’s Eve Countdowns on Netflix for Kids?

In the past, Netflix rolled out New Year’s Eve countdowns for kids and family shows like Fuller House, Boss Baby: Back in Business, and Pinky Malinky.

Right now, Netflix lists just two shows that have countdowns you can check out, Skylanders Academy New Year’s Eve Countdown and Starbeam: Beaming in the New Year. However, that could change closer to Dec. 31.

‘Don’t let Walmart rip you off’: TikToker shows how Walmart prices the same items differently throughout departments

A TikToker is drawing attention to price discrepancies at Walmart in a series of videos comparing products in different sections of the store.

@georgia_bassmaster shared a video to the platform in late November, warning, “Don’t let Walmart rip you off.” This video received 3 million views.

In it, he shows a 16gb SanDisk SDHC card for sale in the camping department of Walmart for $10—something he says is more than it should be, “just ‘cause they put these things in camouflage casing.”

In comparison, he heads over to the electronics section, where a 32gb SanDisk SDHC card is being sold for just $7.28.

Viewers pointed out that there may be other differences between the cards that aren’t immediately apparent without examining the products more closely. Still, @georgia_bassmaster seemed to be making the point that if you want to know what options are available to you at Walmart, you may have to check multiple departments for similar items.

In another video, the TikToker showed 50 feet of 550 paracord by Walmart brand Ozark Trail on display in the camping section for $5.20. But another Walmart brand, Hyper Tough, also offers 50 feet of 550 paracord for $3.94 over in the hardware department.

Viewers suggested other items they knew were offered at different price points between departments in the store, leading to additional videos on cast iron skillets and lunch boxes.

They also shared frustrations that this type of practice seems to be common throughout companies and industries, and certainly isn’t limited to Walmart.

“This is exactly why you throw a big party and not a wedding,” @triajace wrote.

Another commenter pointed out that it’s similar to stores selling “salsa in the chip aisle vs the Spanish rice aisle.”

And women know this practice all too well.

“I’m a pink tax survivor,” commented @brittanystrauss, referencing the way basic products marketed towards women, such as razors and shampoo, often cost more. “It’s so sad that guys get ripped off for their rope.”

The items @georgia_bassmaster are comparing may not be perfectly equivalent to one another, but it’s a good reminder that thinking outside of the box at a store like Walmart might lead you to more options if you’re looking to save a buck or two. At the same time, having to go to this much effort just to compare similar items may explain why so many people just do their shopping online these days.

Carson Wentz Will Miss The Colts Game Against The Raiders In COVID Protocols

The Indianapolis Colts are one of the NFL’s hottest teams, winning six of their last seven games, most recently taking down the Cardinals on Christmas to move to 9-6, allowing them to control their own destiny in the playoff hunt.

They are a game back of the Titans for the AFC South division title, but tied with the Patriots for the fifth and sixth wild card spots in the AFC. Two wins in their final two games would guarantee the Colts a playoff berth, and with the Raiders and Jaguars remaining on the schedule, they figured to be favored in both. However, this Sunday they will have to face the Raiders, by far the tougher of the two, without starting quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz was placed into COVID protocols on Tuesday, and as an unvaccinated player he cannot test his way out of protocols and will not be able to possibly return by Sunday.

That is a significant deal for the Colts and a lot of other teams in the AFC playoff hunt, including the Las Vegas Raiders, who are one of the four teams tied at 8-7 and chasing that final wild card spot. The Colts will likely turn to rookie Sam Ehlinger in Wentz’s absence, which is far from the ideal circumstance for a team hoping to lock up at playoff berth this weekend.

While Jonathan Taylor and the Colts rushing attack is by far their biggest strength on offense, having the threat of the pass that Wentz provides is critical to keeping the box at least a bit lighter for Taylor and the Colts O-line to go to work. That won’t be there with Ehlinger and the Raiders figure to load up to slow down Taylor on Sunday. Should Vegas be able to win against a Wentz-less Colts, it will create an even bigger logjam in the AFC, one Indianapolis was really hoping to avoid being in entering Week 18.

CDC Shortens COVID Isolation, Quarantine Times

Dec. 28, 2021 — The CDC recommended shorter COVID-19 isolation and quarantine periods on Monday, cutting the time for people without symptoms and close contacts from 10 days to 5 days.

CDC officials said the new guidance follows recent data that shows people infected with the coronavirus are most contagious in the 2 days before and 3 days after symptoms develop.

“Therefore, people who test positive should isolate for 5 days and, if asymptomatic at that time, they may leave isolation if they can continue to mask for 5 days to minimize the risk of infecting others,” the CDC wrote in a statement.

The CDC also updated the guidance for people who are exposed to COVID-19. For those who are unvaccinated or are more than 6 months out from their second Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or more than 2 months out from their Johnson & Johnson vaccine and not boosted, the CDC recommends a 5-day quarantine and “strict mask use” for 5 more days. If the 5-day quarantine period is “not feasible,” the CDC wrote, exposed people should wear a well-fitting mask “at all times” when around others for 10 days after exposure.

Those who have received a booster shot don’t need to quarantine after an exposure, the CDC said, but they should wear a mask for 10 days after the exposure. For all people who are exposed, the best practice is to get tested on the fifth day after exposure. If symptoms occur, people should quarantine until a negative test confirms that symptoms aren’t due to COVID-19.

The news comes after the agency last week loosened the rules for health care workers, reducing the isolation time from 10 days to 7 days. If there are severe staffing shortages, the CDC said, the isolation time could be cut to 5 days.

The decision was driven by a recent surge in COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant, the CDC said. Early research suggests that the variant may cause less severe illness than earlier versions of the coronavirus, yet the sheer number of people becoming infected and isolating could prevent businesses from staying open, according to The Associated Press.

“Not all of those cases are going to be severe. In fact, many are going to be asymptomatic,” Rochelle Walensky, MD, director of the CDC, told the AP on Monday.

“We want to make sure there is a mechanism by which we can safely continue to keep society functioning while following the science,” she said.

The CDC encouraged people to get vaccinated and get a booster shot, citing data from South Africa and the U.K. that show vaccine effectiveness for two doses is about 35% and a booster shot restores protection to 75%. The CDC recommended COVID-19 vaccination for ages 5 and older and booster shots for ages 16 and older.

“The Omicron variant is spreading quickly and has the potential to impact all facets of our society,” Walensky said in the CDC statement. “These updates ensure people can safely continue their daily lives.”

The CDC’s isolation and quarantine rules have confused people, the AP reported, and the new guidance is meant to help at a time when more people are testing positive. Overall, the latest change is aimed at people who don’t have symptoms. Those who test positive and have symptoms should stay at home.

Isolation

The isolation rules apply to those who test positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status. They say:

  • The clock starts on the day you test positive.
  • You should go into isolation for 5 days instead of the previously recommended 10 days.
  • At the end of 5 days, if you have no symptoms, you can return to normal activities but should wear a mask everywhere for at least 5 more days, including at home around others.
  • If you have a fever, continue to stay home until you no longer have one.

Quarantine

The quarantine rules apply to those who are exposed to COVID-19 and are close contacts of someone who tested positive. They say:

  • The clock starts on the day you’re alerted that you may have been exposed to the virus.
  • If you have received a booster shot or completed the first vaccine series recently (within 6 months for Pfizer and Moderna and within 2 months for Johnson & Johnson), you should wear a mask around others for 10 days and get tested on the fifth day, if possible. If you have symptoms, get tested and stay home.
  • If you are unvaccinated or completed the first vaccine series but haven’t been boosted in the recommended time frame for your vaccine, you should stay home for 5 days and get tested on the fifth day, if possible. After that, continue to wear a mask around others for 5 more days. If you can’t quarantine, you should wear a mask for 10 days. If you have symptoms, get tested and stay home.

These Are The 16 Things You Should Do In Florida, According To A Florida Native

I know I said no Disney, but I lied…sort of. Disney Springs doesn’t involve going into the parks themselves (or spending a ton of money on a ticket), so whenever I pass through Orlando, I make a pitstop at Candy Cauldron. These are quite literally the best caramel apples you will ever try and, if you stick around, you’ll get to watch the fireworks for free.

Also, as a connoisseur of Mickey-themed caramel apples, please note that the best way to eat one is by cutting it into slices with a very sharp knife (that caramel will give you a work out if the knife is too dull). So, don’t pick one up until you’re about ready to leave, otherwise you’ll have to stare at it the whole day wishing you could eat it.

‘They wanted to make sure you knew they were still with you’: TikToker finds old, wrapped Christmas gifts in her late grandfather’s attic

A viral TikTok showing a family discovering long-lost Christmas gifts has people all over the world getting a belated rush of the holiday spirit. The TikTok, which was posted yesterday by user @hollybrooke92, has already received almost a half-million likes and has spawned several updates.

@hollybrooke92

This is wild! Mine say from Nana who passed in 2015. The rugrats wrapping paper makes me think these are way before then even. #grandparents #crazy

♬ Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town – Mariah Carey

In the video, Holly explains her family’s discovery of these long-lost gifts.

“My grandfather recently passed away and my cousin found super old wrapped Christmas presents in the attic to my dad, my sister and I,” she details. “We also found an old Christmas card with money in it from my great grandparents who passed around 2002.”

The TikTok showcases a veritable trove of presents, with each new gift removal revealing more presents underneath. While Holly says her grandfather passed away recently, she writes in the caption that the presents are actually much older, given both the fact that some presents say “from Nana” (who Holly says passed away in 2015) and the abundance of Rugrats-themed wrapping paper.

For the curious, Holly reveals some of the presents in later TikToks.

@hollybrooke92

Reply to @useric9jh1qu3w I know he loved having one last Christmas with his parents in a way. My sister and I are looking forward to opening ours!

Her father, for example, received a high-powered flashlight, a massage chair, and a cover for when he does concrete work.

Reply to @allisonannmiles this is so my grandpas humor though. 2 almost identical gifts but the most amazing thing I could have received from them❤️

For Holly, the grandparents opted for both a fleece robe and a Snuggie—both in Holly’s favorite color at the time, pink. Holly says she always put a cozy blanket on her Christmas list and theorized that her grandparents were “making sure [she] still got something [she] loves from them one last time.”

In the comments, TikTok users were full of love for Holly, her grandparents, and their caring gifts, even if they arrived a little later than expected.

“So they gave you warm hugs from the other side, and the absolute knowledge that they loved you? Priceless,” wrote one commenter upon the reveal of the gifts.

“They wanted to make sure you knew they were still with you this Christmas,” said another.

For Holly, she’s overjoyed by the discovery of the gifts and the inspiration it has brought TikTok viewers around the world.

In another update, she shares this heartwarming sentiment.

“The fact that my cousin found old Christmas presents addressed to my family at Christmastime was not only amazing, but it made me feel like they were still with me today,” she shares. “Not only has he inspired me to purposefully do this for my family, but it looks like he’s inspired a few others—which is the greatest Christmas gift that anybody could ask for.”
