On the 25th of October 2023 Otis became the the first ever Category 5 Eastern Pacific hurricane to make landfall. Here is a map of its path near Acapulco.
Otis also broke the record for quickest intensifying hurricane ever.
Going from a 50 mph (85 km/h) tropical storm to a 160 mph (260 km/h)
Category 5 hurricane in less than 24 hours. It also destroyed every
prediction most of which expected it to become a cat 1 at best.
