On May 29th marks the couquest Constantinople (Istanbul) by Fatih Sultan Mehmed II following a 53- day siege of the city. Sultan Mehmed II’s conquest which led to the fall of the Byzantine Empire was prophesied by Prophet Muhammed in his famous narrations (hadith) : Verily you shall conquer Constantionople (Istanbul). What a wonderful leader he will be and what a wonderful army that army be.

Sultan Mehmed II said this as he gave the order in what recognized as one of the greatest military feats in history. Due to the fact that his navy was blockaded off from entering the Golden Horn by a giant iron chain by the Byzantines, he had his army clear a path through the mountains surrounding the city upon which soldiers lead tracks of greased timbers, open which oxen and men pulled the entire navy into Constantinople (Istanbul)’s gulf in one night, thus circumventing the Byzantine defences. This stroke of military genius greatly assised the army in the conquest Constantinople (Istanbul) as the Ottoman forces now had the upper hand.

May Allah blessed be your conquest and may Allah bless your place 🤲🏻
