Details are still emerging following the horrific helicopter crashed that claimed the lives of Kobe Bryant, 41, Gianna Bryant, 13, and seven other victims.
After news broke, countless fans paid tribute to the All-Star player, including his good friend and salsa singer Marc Anthony.
The famous crooner took to Instagram to share his grief and posted a photo of himself with Bryant. “When you shake hands with an ANGEL,” he wrote. “Rest in peace my beautiful brother. May love and people surround the families of all involved. Sooo sad.”
On the night of Bryant’s death, the 51-year-old singer was set to perform a concert at the Agganis Arena in Boston. He decided to go on with his performance as planned, but stopped the concert halfway through for a gut-wrenching tribute no one saw coming.
During a moment of silence, a large image of Bryant wearing his Lakers star uniform appeared on the screen behind Anthony.
Then, with the Lakers’ colors flashing, Bryant’s No. 24 Lakers’ jersey rose up from the floor and was proudly displayed in the center of the stage.
The audience was overcome with emotion and started chanting “Kobe, Kobe, Kobe.”
