All of us have rocked a trend that has later been deemed uncool. It may have been slap bracelets or bell bottoms. Or, perhaps you conquered JNCO jeans back in middle school. Looking back at high school photos today, it’s apparent that slim eyebrows were all the rage.
It’s a little strange for eyebrows to go through trends, but it definitely happened. Some people waxed and tweezed so much that they caused damage to the hair root. Since eyebrows help to frame your face, they’re a very important feature to have. Noted model, on-air personality, chef, and Twitter user Chrissy Teigen showcased that she also participated in the fad.
On Instagram, she posted a harmless nostalgic photo of high school cheerleaders — including herself. Of course, in true Chrissy style, she told the true story behind the photo.
“Watching cheer on Netflix got me reminiscing about how I sucked at cheerleading almost as much as I sucked at doing my brows,” she said. “Truly no idea how I made this team. The best part is they claimed there was no JV/varsity but one squad got to cheer for basketball and football and the other (mine) got volleyball and wrestling. I still remember my mat cheers though. Go fight win baby. Go fight win.”
