Jessica Biel Insists She’s Not An Anti-Vaxxer After Being Slammed On Social Media

This week, actress Jessica Biel met with lawmakers in California to share her opinion on a controversial vaccine bill. The bill would make it more difficult for parents to send their kids to school without vaccinations by limiting medical exemptions. Jessica spoke out against the bill.

The 37-year-old actress spoke alongside notorious anti-vaxxer advocate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. So, people assumed that she was coming out as an anti-vaxxer herself.

Her name soon became a trending topic on Twitter, with many fans calling her “irresponsible.”

But Jessica took to Instagram on Thursday morning to clarify her position: she is NOT an anti-vaxxer.

“I am not against vaccinations — I support children getting vaccinations and I also support families having the right to make educated medical decisions for their children alongside their physicians,” she wrote.

She added that she was only concerned with the medical exemption portion of the bill. Some children can’t receive vaccinations because of legitimate medical conditions, which Jessica knows from her personal life.

“My dearest friends have a child with a medical condition that warrants an exemption from vaccinations, and should this bill pass, it would greatly affect their family’s ability to care for their child in this state,” she continued.

Still, many anti-vaxxers are using Jessica’s statements to support their own positions.

Jessica and her husband, Justin Timberlake, share a 4-year-old son, Silas.
