I’ve read a lot of postings here tonight and I’m always so surprised to see so many critics of KO and the continued comparison to Res Ert. There is no comparison. It’s apples and oranges. People like to keep talking about “History” First and foremost folks, remember it is an entertainment program. You are not going to get exact historical content. There is always going to be an air of creative license taken in the making of such things. Good lord whoever said history was entertaining. I imagine if there was factual evidence about osman from birth to death we would still need the creative stuff to keep us coming back. I remember an interview with Engin Altan (Ertugrul) saying there were only a few pages of history on the real Ertugrul to go by. but somehow they managed to get 400 episodes, not all historically accurate. There was also No Alp named Bamsi. However, there was a prisoner named Bamsi who spent many years in prison who fell in love with a Christian woman. Personally, I found RE for lack of anything else I wanted to watch and was hooked and KO was the next step in my Turkish journey. I enjoyed Destan Also and was bummed when it went off so quickly. I guess what I’m trying to say people, is that if I was to watch a program and expect it to have factual historical qualities, I would watch a documentary on the subject. As far as KO, and other dramas I want to be entertained and maybe I get to learn a little bit too. I get to be angry, glad, sad, excited, all things I DO expect when I sit to watch a pretty entertaining show on the TV.
