In the previous episode , the siege of Iznik and the battle of Dembos were mentioned indirectly.Osman Gazi besieged Iznik in 1303 AD .As a result Emperor Andrenikos sent his army towards Yanishahir and a battle took place in the Dembos plain .The Byzantine army was completely crushed and the invader osman returned victorious ,but he stopped the siege of Iznik .
