France at Croatia: Preview

France has another big game this week, after making it through a 0-0 draw against Portugal this last weekend. Young midfielder Eduardo Camavinga made an appearance off the bench, and made headlines when he swapped shirts with legendary Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo. Camavinga posted a picture on social media and said he would never wash the shirt, but now that Ronaldo has tested positive for COVID-19, it would be best if the young Frenchman gives it a rinse and just appreciates the jersey for what it meant to receive it.

The game on Wednesday has taken on more importance following the France-Portugal draw and Croatia getting three points against Sweden. Croatia is now only four points back with three games to go, and a win would be as invigorating as a loss would be deflating.

Starting Lineups

Here’s how France lined up in its last match:

  • Lloris; Hernández, Kimpembe, Varane, Pavard; Kanté; Rabiot, Pogba; Griezmann; Giroud, Mbappé

Here’s how Croatia lined up in its last match:

  • Livakovic; Melnjak, Caleta-Car, Lovren, Uremovic; Brozovic; Vlasic, Kovacic; Modric; Perisic, Brekalo

Odds

According to the BetMGM oddsmakers (as of October 14):

  • France, +105 (wager $100 to win $105)
  • Croatia, +260
  • Draw, +250
