– Have you heard of the martyr’s sweet drink?
During the time of the Ottoman Sultanate, a special drink was offered to those who were seriously wounded in Jihād. When the time came to meet their Lord, the field medic would give the dying soldier a drink – a drink that was a sign and joy for him, knowing that he would meet his Lord after fighting for His cause.
This drink was a mixture of Zamzam water and sweet syrup. Field medics carried this drink in a small barrel (as shown in the picture), ready for any of Allāh’s soldiers who fell in Jihād. #History
