Will there ever be a time when snagging photos of bright green objects to use as a makeshift green screen isn’t hilarious? Let’s hope not.
From lightsaber battles to the Chicago River on St. Patrick’s Day, green screen memes unite all walks of life on the internet, and the latest video to be subjected to the chroma key treatment is no exception.
Myesha Boulton (or @mya.curvz on Instagram) posted a video of herself posing in a bright green dress back in early April, and only a month later, it was getting co-opted and utilized as the green screen it clearly deserves to be.
The original:
The first creative edit to start this latest green screen meme was one allowing Nicki Minaj to perform on Myesha’s dress.

Even @mya.curvz herself took note of the trend, reposting the original edit to her own Instagram account, with the caption: “Y’all real Live Creative. 😭 Clearly I’m trending on Twitter.”
While superimposing music and YouTube videos on the green dress lady is still going strong at the moment, no doubt it won’t be long until another green screen opportunity takes Myesha’s place. It is but a baton that is passed from bright green object on the internet to bright green object on the internet… what will be next?
