Emma Roberts celebrated her second Mother’s Day as a parent over the weekend. Alongside well wishes from friends and fans, she also received a very kind message from Garrett Hedlund praising her in honor of the special holiday.

“Happy Mother’s Day! To the most beautiful mother, dear Emma!” said the actor, starting off a handwritten note to his ex that he posted on Instagram yesterday.

Emma and Garrett were first linked romantically back in 2019, and welcomed their son, Rhodes Robert Hedlund, at the end of the next year.

News of their eventual breakup became public this past January. At the time, a source told E! News that Emma and Garrett were “still co-parenting and involved in each other’s lives because of their son” after the split.
“You gave us a gift who never ceases to melt our hearts, amaze our minds, and make all the anythings just fly away, from morning till night,” Garrett wrote in his Mother’s Day note to Emma. “All my love.”
The American Horror Story star celebrated her mom, and her own motherhood, on social media yesterday. “Happy Mother’s Day to the loves of my life Roadie and mama,” Emma captioned an Instagram carousel that featured a photo of her with Rhodes, and a throwback of her and her mom.
