Osman Bey and Cerkutay’s Relationship..🤍🤍
I’m not going to speculate as to whether Cerkutay is really going to turn his back on Osman Bey or whether it’s all a plan but, like many people have already commented, their scene in this episode was absolutely brilliant in terms of writing, acting, execution, the synergetic creative energy crackling between the two actors.
Cerkutay and his relationship with his Bey has come a long way!
From that scene in S1 when he and Goktug, both dedicated Mongol commanders at the time, watched a young Osman kneeling down to pray in the enemy’s den…
to the time when he showed up the day of Bey election in S2, so wanting to be a part of a community he’d always thought of as his enemy…The way he said “I came so I can join your alps & help you if you lose….” And when Osman asked ‘what if I win?, the way he said, like a kid, well then I’ll be able to join the celebratory feast!
his and Edebali’s scene in S3 – when he burst out crying when Edebali quoted ‘Did He not find you an orphan and guide you?’,
His going to Osman Bey all proud as a Muslim & Osman Bey gifting him with a Quran, a prayer rug, and kissing him on his forehead,
his and Aygul’s sweet, poignant & too short story, his finding love again – a motherly nurturing figure – he’d always needed without knowing to this latest scene in S5!!
What a journey!!
