On January 22nd, 2015, @BeLeafMel tweeted a dad toss image with the hashtag #sunsetdadtoss (shown below).

Spread

Over the next five years, people continued to post images of father’s throwing their children and catching them (example below, left).

On June 22nd, 2020, the hashtag went viral after a tweet from @BBBlack_3 received more than 221,000 likes and 43,000 retweets (shown below, center). Many responded to the tweet by posting a series of image edits of the picture (example below, right).
