Croatia in World War 2

During World War II, Croatia was a part of the Axis powers and formed the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) in 1941. It was a puppet state led by the Ustaše regime, which was fascist and allied with Nazi Germany. The NDH was involved in the persecution and atrocities against Serbs, Jews, and Roma populations. The regime committed numerous war crimes and collaborated with the Axis powers until the end of the war in 1945. After the war, Croatia became one of the six socialist republics in the newly formed Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
