Companies Say They’re Already “Hiring” AI Instead Of Human Employees

As if the process of finding and interviewing for a new job wasn’t annoying and hard enough, now we’re going to have to compete with artificial intelligence, too.

According to a survey conducted by ResumeBuilder.com, 49% of business owners who responded plan to use ChatGPT in some capacity, and 48% say they’ve already used AI to replace workers.

Stacie Haller, a career advisor at ResumeBuilder.com, breaks down the results further.

“Just as technology has evolved and replaced workers over the last several decades, ChatGPT may impact the way we work. The results of this survey shows that employers are looking to streamline some job responsibilities using ChatGPT.”

93% of respondents said they plan to expand their current use of AI in the near future, which is a pretty strong indicator of things to come.

Ominously, 63% of business leaders believe ChatGPT will “definitely” or “probably” lead to the loss of human jobs.

The majority of those jobs are in copywriting, content creation, customer support, and summarizing meetings and documents.

This is all despite the clear indications that ChatGPT cannot be counted on to be accurate or factual, and is even been called a “horrible product” by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. He also says it should not be relied on “for anything important.”

Apparently none of that bothers business owners much at all.

Let’s hope that, for everyone’s sake, it at least starts telling the truth.
