But this week, Chrissy said she realized it was actually an abortion. “Let’s just call it what it was: It was an abortion — an abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago,” Chrissy said at the A Day of Unreasonable Conversation summit.
“I told the world we had a miscarriage, the world agreed we had a miscarriage, all the headlines said it was a miscarriage,” she continued. “And I became really frustrated that I didn’t, in the first place, say what it was, and I felt silly that it had taken me over a year to actually understand that we had had an abortion.”
Obviously, this revelation made several headlines. And despite probably knowing how awful the internet can be, it looks like Chrissy read the comment section on one of Glamour magazine’s Instagram post promoting an article of her.
Chrissy shared screenshots of the hate comments she came across about herself. They are, in fact, pretty insidious.
“I knew this would happen, and honestly I’ve already seen you do your worst so if this makes you feel better, great,” Chrissy said. “It doesn’t make me feel worse though.”
Chrissy also said she was surprised how vicious the comments were on a post from Glamour. “This isn’t, like, The Daily Mail or something, BTW,” Chrissy said in a follow-up tweet. “It’s the Glamour magazine comment thread! Brutal.”
She’s right, and I wish people would realize that celebrities are humans and don’t deserve it. You can read more about Chrissy’s summit talk here.
