The booking photo, along with his fingerprints, was taken after Trump turned himself in as he faces charges related to his purported efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia, HuffPost reported.
The mugshot is significant because although he currently faces 91 total criminal charges across four cases, this is the first time his mugshot has been taken — which was important to Georgia officials, who felt he should be treated the same as any other person being processed.
“Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status, we’ll have a mugshot ready for you,” Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat said, according to WSB-TV.
