Alaeddin Keykubad I also known as “Keykubad The Great” was one of the most influential rulers of the Seljuk State of Rum. Kayqubad’s reign represented the height of Seljuk’s power and influence in Anatolia. He managed to keep Anatolia away from the Mongolian Invasion. Ghiyath al-Din Kaykhusraw II, his son and successor, could not maintain this after his father’s death due to which Seljuk state became the vassal state of Mongols. You can watch my detailed video on the reign of Sultan Alaeddin & Kaykhusraw II & how Maulana Jalalodin Rumi was trying to save the Seljuk state from destruction.
