Six-year-old Miela Kroenke was heartbroken when her beloved dance classes were cancelled, putting her competition season on hold indefinitely.

With the young dancers stuck at home, the studio sent out a challenge to its students: to teach a parent their routine.

It wasn’t Miela’s mom who stepped in to learn it… it was her dad, Lt. Tyler Kroenke of the Nebraska State Patrol.

He wanted to do something for her that would make her laugh and smile, and she knew he’d make the perfect dance partner.

After a week of learning the routine front to back, it was time for Tyler and Miela to perform it in their home. Miela was dressed as Wonder Woman, while Tyler wore a cape and mask over his police uniform.

“I was sitting on the couch with the wife and I was like how about you post that to Facebook and give somebody a laugh, I’ll take it at my expense,” said Lt. Kroenke.

But the doting dad never thought the video would become so widely popular.

“I’m just tired of scrolling through Facebook and seeing story after story about COVID and it is important but we need to see something else and make people happy.”
