Netflix made a docuseries about the murders, and it made Paul out to be a monster. I never met the guy, so I have no idea what he was actually like. My stepsister is adamant that Paul was a good guy and felt bad about what happened to Mallory Beach that night on the boat. The entire situation still bothers her, rightly so. I can’t imagine opening my Netflix page and having my dead friend’s face pop up.”

Alex Murdaugh is a former lawyer who was recently found guilty of murdering his wife, Maggie, and their 22-year-old son, Paul, on June 7, 2021, in South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
The story became highly publicized because, in a shocking twist, the prosecution presented a video from Paul’s phone where you can hear Alex, Paul, and Maggie in the background shortly before the murders occurred, placing Alex at the scene of the crime. This evidence completely undermined his alibi.
Murdaugh was found guilty on charges of two counts of murder and two counts of possession of a weapon in the commitment of a violent crime. He was sentenced to life in prison.
