Chick-fil-A sauces are known to be tricky to open. Several customers have reported having issues opening up their favorite condiments. However, a Chick-fil-A worker on TikTok revealed how to open these difficult sauces while keeping the container intact.
The video comes from user Alan (@lolwutalan), who previously went viral on the platform when he shared a hack for how to make sweet salsa for Chick-fil-A’s breakfast burrito.
In his latest post, Alan prepares a very special spicy chicken sandwich. First, he takes it out of the wrapper. Then, the content creator places a small container’s worth of mac and cheese on top of the sandwich. Next, Alan pulls out some Chick-Fil-A ranch sauce and nonchalantly reveals a simple way to open them without ruining the container.
“You know, if you bite the corner, you can squeeze it on,” he says.
He demonstrates his technique. He places one corner of the sauce container in his mouth, bites the corner off, and is on his way to squeezing the condiment onto his sandwich. The Chick-Fil-A worker repeats the process with a container of buffalo sauce. The content creator wraps up the video by placing the top bun onto his sandwich and taking a bite.

The video has amassed 3.5 million views, leaving viewers shocked that they didn’t know the hack.
“Okay … why am I the only one that didn’t know about the sauce part,” one viewer wrote.
“THE SAUCE OPENING HACK HELLO??????” a second remarked.
But some Chick-Fil-A afficionados didn’t think that biting the corner of the plastic sauce container was such a great idea.
“As a former [Chick-fil-A] employee..sauces get dropped I will NEVER bite the corner,” one user remarked.
“Isn’t it easier to open the sauce just a little instead of biting the plastic? Lol,” a second asked noted.
In an interview with the Daily Dot, Alan revealed that he’s worked at Chick-fil-A for almost 10 years at three different locations, and that he discovered his sauce hack by trying to find a way to “drizzle sauce” onto his food without overdoing it.
For the content creator, this method is highly effective. He finds that it allows for good control over how much sauce comes out of the packet, and allows you to be less wasteful.
However, the Chick-Fil-A told the publication, the most common mistake customers make is “putting too much pressure on the sauce packet and having it fly from your hand.” Moreover, he warned others to be careful using this method.
“I should have prefaced the video that teeth are not tools. I’ve been reminded of that, and realize someone might chip a tooth,” he said.
