Whoopi Goldberg’s The View Suspension Holocaust Remarks

“The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities.”

Whoopi Goldberg has been suspended from The View after backlash following her comments about the Holocaust.

“Let’s be truthful — the Holocaust isn’t about race,” Goldberg said on the talk show on Monday. “It’s not. It’s about man’s inhumanity to man; that’s what it’s about. These are two groups of white people.”

CNN reports that ABC News has suspended the talk show’s co-host for two weeks following her comments, as well as her subsequent apology.

“Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments,” ABC News president Kim Godwin said in a statement announcing the suspension.

“While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities.”

As previously mentioned, Goldberg also issued an apology after her remarks on Monday.
