When Muftī Aḥmad Yār Khān Na’īmī was in Madīnah, he went to a shop desiring to buy a new pen to write his Tafsīr. In the shop he saw one particular pen he really liked. However he had used all of his money on purchasing books; and the pen that he saw was too expensive for him to buy so he left empty handed.

At the time of Fajr, the young shop owner saw the Shaykh in the Masjid, pulled out the same pen, and then said: “I do not know who you are or what you are! But last night I saw the Prophet ﷺ for the first time and he said, ‘My servant (khādim), Aḥmad came to you for a pen, gift it to him on my behalf!'”

Indeed, no servant of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ ever left his presence disappointed, Subḥāna Llāh.
